You are comparing two different concepts of armies. Besides we know what happened to those Elite soldiers when facing the Legions of Rome...don't we?

Perhaps you should try them ingame instead of just comparing stats. Stats do not tell the whole story. They feel quite balanced ingame. And we could discuss the "elite" status compared to "just" professional career soldiers like the roman legionares from the marian reforms onwards.

From the Roman point of view or other factions? For the Roman player other Elite units are quite challenging at least until you have some experienced ones yourself.

Well i betatested it and the only CTD's i suffered were related to my own hardware. To my own experience it's very stable and i have played late game campaigns. But i am using a retail version, not steam.
