Yeah, I'm new here... kinda.
Anyway, my name is Santtu Pesonen. At the time of writing this, I am a 20-year-old Finnish student and hobbyist creative self-exploiting multitool. My passions include PC gaming, level design, art and music.
My start as a level designer came in 2008 when I found a boxed copy of Doom 2 at a local-ish flea market and purchased the game for a generous €2.00. Then I almost instantly found out that there was an active modding scene around the game - so naturally I had to give it a shot myself. In the seven years that I've had Doom Builder installed, I've designed in all 13 levels or level sets for Doom, the first having been made throughout 2010.
A few days ago, I was messing around with Doom Builder, when out of nowhere, I happened to ask myself: "What would a Metroidvania be like in first person?" In mere minutes, that thought developed into an idea: make a Metroidvania-inspired mod for Doom. By the next day, the idea of a mod had developed into the idea of a total conversion.
And that's what I'm working on right now. This total conversion goes by the name Deliverance 2600. My main reason for joining the ModDB community was so that I could promote and post updates about this project. So that's mainly what you can expect to see from me.
Stay tuned.

"What would a Metroidvania be like in first person?"
...erm? Metroid Prime, maybe? However, doing it in the style of Doom would be ultra-cool.
