OK, I'm a total fucknoob, I know nothing. Never modded Doom III. Is there any source for clear, step by step instructions as to how to install this?
My main questions rn are:
Do I need to do all that stuff on the RBD3BFG Github page, i.e. have to get the 'base' RBD3BFG first in order to use HiDef? Or is the RBD3BFG.exe included in the .zip all I need?
On said Github page in the readme, it says something about compiling on Win 32. I got Win 64. Does that **** it all up for me or can I just run it in 32bit ?
The 3.1j patch includes all the others before it, right? No need to install about 12.000 patches one after the other?
Speaking on behalf of other fucknoobs like me...Could you maybe put something like a beginners directory in the summary, with a link to the troubleshooting and, well, telling us which readmes to follow? It's kinda f***ed up when you read entries in comments or docs that are from the Reagan era and have no idea if that's still true.
Not asking you to explain it like to a 5 year old, just...would be good to know who does and where.
Edit: For me, rn it stops working when attempting to load after the intro. Imma be brave and check the troubleshooting section.
What surprises me positively is that I was still able to run the vanilla exe and play my savegame, at least so far, but with added features from the mod^^ Man this is gonna be interesting
