Regardless of who was right or wrong and whatever people had for motivation, the fanbase wanted a FA version for source years ago (circa 05-06). Instead, what the fanbase got was a lot of fighting between the two dev teams, a Grand Canyon size division in the fanbase, and what appears to be the ultimate demise of any version of FA on source. I say ultimate demise because this one is done and FA:S is not far behind. Sure, FA:S is providing news and updates. It's also great that they will release FA:S 2.0 through steam. However, this is a case of too little too late. I certainly hope I'm wrong, and would love to see any source version of FA be popular like FA2.5 was. I just have a very hard time believing this will come to fruition.

There are no iron-sights, the original never had them either.

There wern't any vehicles in the any of the HL1 versions of firearms that I can recall. There were some stationary ones, but nothing that was driveable... There were some fixed mg's if you want to count those.

Ahhh... these are good things to hear. So thank you for that info.

Regarding the smoke grenades, I don't see them being very effective. If you step just slightly to the side of the grenade, you can see almost clearly through the smoke. I think if the smoke cloud were a bit bigger, more people would use it - would provide a bit more concealment for teammates trying to get around a point.

I couldn't get the frag grenades to prime the other day, so maybe I'm just not doing it right... it worked a minute ago, so its probably just me.

One more question: why not set up sand so that you can cross through the ravine at the bridge? Right now you die instantly if you go there.

All in all, again, this is certainly a great start and I'm looking forward to seeing more of these things come in to play (especially the akimbos and anaconda... loved that setup on woods in 2.5).

From a long time FA player, I'm pleased. This is a great start to a solid source version of FA, but still has a long way to go. I understand that this is just 1.0. Excluding the obvious tweaks and such (like damage modifiers), I'm curious about a couple of things:

1. No akimbos? Not in the design, or were they creating lag issues like with 2.5?
2. No anaconda? Seriously? A lil' marks1 (scope) and some nomen (speed loader) and that became a solid long range weapon.
3. Might want to adjust the smoke grenades to be... more useful?
4. Will frag grenade priming be added? Also, maybe increase its size - should be about the size of a baseball, looks more like a golf ball on the ground.
5. Claymores: bigger explosion/more damage? Not sure someone should survive when stepping on one.
6. G3A3 origins corrected? Feels like you're holding the stock over the shoulder
7. M82 animation when running. Seriously, have you seen it?
8. Why switch the G36 from E to C?
9. With the attachments update, will that mean recon gives you access to silencers on certain weapons (92f, mp5, m4)?
10. If you have gunnery1 (nomen from 3.0), will there eventually be modified reload animations like 3.0 had? Example: duct taped ak47 mags, the speed loader for the anaconda, etc...

With that said, good work so far, and I'm looking forward to the updates.
