they aren't evil, just genetically modified, brainwashed, and summarily killed off because of their value to the splicers. the game pivots around the choice of whether you rescue them or abuse them like the rest of the world has.

this game isn't a copy of system shock- i't's its "spiritual successor" as quoted by 2K games. basically, same gameplay, new story, shiny new eye candy. of course it's better.
