Just a quick update guys we have moved the stargate website and forums over to a tempoery host for now untill the problems with our VPS have been resolved.

every one should now be able to access both the website and forums.

Ok so still having problems with our vps, it seems its now crashing or freezing up every 10-20 minuites, we have submitted a ticket about this but no surprise no responce from our hosting company yet, as soon as we hear from them we will update you guys

I just want to say that im really sorry for all of this downtime and all of the interuptions to our services guys, as soon as possible we are moving over to a colocated dedicated server that we controll.

Well its now been aprox 7 Days since the website went down, sorry we havent had any updates for you guys however our hosting company is really rather reluctant at letting us know whats going on, at best were told "we are aware of the problem and will update you shortly" thats followed by 24 hours of nothingness from them.

So i want to assure every one as soon as the sites and services come back online we are taking all our data away form the current host and will acctually be hosting our own server in a data center that we can get access to any time we want.

again sorry for the down time every one, as soon as we hear any thing we will let you know. and hopefully the wait wont be mutch longer.

On a more positive note, we have some very exciting thing comming (as soon as the services are back online and we can all commit our data) we will have a rather nice updates and some news for you.

Just want to inform the community that currently due to unforeseen circumstances our website "stargate4bf2.co.uk" is offline, i have the tech's hard at work trying to resolve the problem and we hope to resume normal operations a.s.a.p.
Sorry about this every one, hopefully this will be the last time for a good long while this will happen.
As soon as i hear any news worthy of posting you’ll be the first to know (after me of course ;-P)

Thats 32% completion of the current tasks/ bugs that we have added to redmine, there are lots more tasks to be added however we only add them as soon as we are ready to work on each individual section of the game.

Then we will have an internal testing session we we will be adding any bugs we find.

Then those bugs will be worked on and further testign sessions /bug reporting will happen.

Just keep watching the forums, redmine and here as we always post on our progress, on new items being added to the game e.t.c

we are hopeing to have a few teast maps to show off you the community via videos in the near future so keep watching this space as always updates are posted here, on our facebook account and firstly on our website and forums as well as screenshots and videos, additionally you can directly add your feedback comment suggestions e.t.c to me and the rest of the developers on the forums as we have spresific categories just for that or alternativly just chat amongst the community members we alredy have there :D

p.s also just though we have the tau'ri cide player models and skins and weapons all sorted out and were just sitting down discussing the lucians weapon load out at the moment again we have their player models and skin all sorted

To be honist we are still in the early stages of development as you can see by the images section we alredy have some vehicles in game with working flight and combat code
e.g
F-302
Deathglider

We also have working versions of the BC-304 and Hatak although the flight and combat coding still needs alot of work

We have a prototype of the SGC (Levels 27 & 28) in game currently and working stargate (SGC) and off world variant with working teleportation code, a more complete version of the prototype is currently being modeled by Jack O'Neill and i must say its looking Amazing!

Also from jack we have just recieved a fantastic model of the Ring Transporter that we are just figuring out the dynamics of placing that in to a level and animating and tiying it in to out teleportation code.

there is alot more that we have in game just view some of the videos and images either on here on the website and forums.

and there is also alot more we have to do.

Just to clear up any future confusion on this issue, As Jack stated, the gun has been loaned to us from Project Reality with full permission to use it in the mod, Credits still remain with the origional author of the gun and with Project reality them selves.

The Kit request system is visually simmer to Project reality's however the back end python coding is all our own work, with the help of the Bfeditor community answering questions i had about imaplementing different steps of the kit request system.

the reason it is visually simmer to Project Rality's is purly because i play alot of PR and love how easy it is to use their kit request system i decided to base our version visually from theirs.

I do have to stress one point the G36 used in our mod is on lone to us form Project reality, we have full permission to use the gun in our mod.

Q, when do the demo? really want to play.

A, We will post news of when the demo is avaliable on here, however as of right now we do not have a set data so please keep checking back.

Q, in 1942 in a fashion star wars possible in space, can do the same but here?

If i understand correctly your asking if its possible to have a level that is space based as apose to the main stream ground/air based levels that are common with BF2 and 2142.

A, The answer to this is yes it is possible and we are planning to have at least two space level in the mod so please keep watching the site for more news on that.

Below is a description of each craft from the stargate wiki, incase your getting confused, i know did when i first started watching stargate lol.

X-301:
The X-301 Interceptor was the Tau'ri's first attempt at developing a space-based combat vessel capable of engaging the Goa'uld. It was originally two Goa'uld Death Glider's obtained during Apophis' failed attack on Earth, before they were combined into one, the craft was modified by technicians at Area 51 and equipped with an Earth-based fire control system and arsenal

X-302:
The X-302 hyperspace fighter was Earth's second attempt at constructing a combat-capable spacecraft
developed using recovered alien technology at Area 51. Unlike its predecessor, the X-301, the craft was built entirely using technology developed on Earth or reverse-engineered from Goa'uld equipment.
While its overall shape was still reminiscent of the Goa'uld Death Glider that had been modified into the X-301, the X-302 was powered by a pair of jet engines with modified aerospikes for use at high altitude, plus a rocket booster for use in outer space. (Unlike other Earth jet fighters, the X-302 incorporated inertial dampers that allowed the pilot to accelerate and maneuver much more sharply without fear of blacking out.) Also, the craft incorporated a Naquadria-based hyperspace window generator, intended to make it Earth's first interstellar vehicle.

F-302:
The F-302 fighter-interceptor is the production model of the X-302 hyperspace fighter
When the experimental X-302 was added to the Tau'ri fleet, it became officially known as the F-302 fighter-interceptor. A space-worthy fighter-interceptor aircraft reverse-engineered from Goa'uld technology but entirely human-built, unlike its predecessor, the X-301.

I would like to appologise to the member that posted a question about this screen shot, due to a mess-up on my behalf some how the comment's and reply i had made to this image, have been deleted.

Question that was asked was if this not the X-301

my reply was

This picture is of a Goa'uld Death glider that is currently in game.

I believe what you were refering to however is either the X-301 or the F-302 (Production model of the X-302)

Images 2 and 5 are screen shots of the F-302.

Hope this helps and again i humbly apologise for this mess-up.
