The Sword And The Axe

Mod review

The Sword and the Axe has been a great mod set in the height of the Viking Age. The mod creator has done meticulous work to make sure that each new version makes significant improvements to the mod while attempting to be as historically "accurate" as possible. I have played versions 5.2 and lower and have enjoyed the attention to detail and unique features of the mod, especially the combat aspect and the viking era atmosphere. I have given a little time to checking out the new version 5.4 and like the features and changes it offers.

This mod has been thoughtfully constructed over the years and while there are a few things I would add to it (what modder wouldn't want to add their own favorite features to another mod?) I respect the creator's vision enough to keep quiet and just enjoy the mod as is. Antonis, the creator, has also been very good with listening to players to get their feedback and has always been diligent in dealing with bugs or other weirdness (of which there have only been a few), so I trust that each newer version will be stable and run well on my middling, aging PC. Plus it will be fun, which is the reason for these mods.

Finally, I want to acknowledge Antonis for the inspiration to create my own mod several years ago and the support and advice he has offered me over the years in that regard.

Fires of War: A Greco-Persian war mod

Mod review

A well-executed mod having a great campaign map, some attractive new scenes, and nicely done troops and items. I am looking forward to your future work. I hope you don't lose your module system again!
