I think these days Steam also backups your config on the cloud, so you'd have to wipe that folder and restart to fix everything up. Sorry about the trouble.

I remember being 11 when I first discovered this project
I really looked forward to being able to play it, but eventually gave up home
When I came back now, in 2019, I expected the project to be completely dead, but to my surprise, it's still, heh, alive & kicking
I'm glad the dev team hasn't given up hope and is still working on the project
Really looking forward to the day I'll finally be able to play this
