Wait, what ? You could play all the way through the mod ?
Despite all what is being said on different forums (change Gameinfo, etc...), I still have errors, crashes, bugs. Did you do anything special ? I'm really curious here :-)

Yeah, many HL² mods are broken since the last SDK update.
I'll let you know as soon as the game is playable again. 'Cause right now there are too many errors that make no sense (crashes, triggers not triggering, etc...).
I'll come up with some good news as soon as possible !

You'll Need Half-Life² :-) And a update from Valve because they broke all HL² mods out there :-)
I'll post some news on Rebellion's news page as soon as it's fixed.

Thanks for letting me know ZDAN. I just took a quick look at the problem, and part of it can be easily fixed.
But now if all scenes work again, some weird things happened, leading to a systematic crash. I'll fix this all next week (if I don't end up with too many broken things) and then upload a newer version right here (which will include the widescreen fixup).

Well, I suppose you can't expect all modders to make a total conversion of the game :-)
I mean, I'm a Level Designer, and worrying about all what I had to worry about already took me a huge amount of time... So I sincerely believe it wouldn't have been wise to add moddeling or texturing tasks to it :-) (It wasn't even my objective :-) )

Anyway, I believe the HL², Episode 1, Episode 2 and Counter-Strike content offers a pretty large choice of textures to bring a honest amount of variety to the environment :-)
Even if, of course, this remains a Source game, and more precisely, a Half-Life² mod :-)

Also, the story has nothing to do with Half-Life, you should be happy about it ;-)

Now, If there's an artist out there willing to show his skills using a finished mod, he's so much welcome to make, for instance, new models for the NPC's ! I'd be glad to help anyone promote his work if it's a win-win deal ;-)

Sweet you tried Rebellion when I shared this on Interlopers, that was the very first version of the mod, and the feedback there really helped me improve a few things (later on, it was the PlanetPhillip community who helped me get to the version I now share on ModDB, the 1.3).
So, as you can see, I already did improve a honest amount of things to make the experience smoother, and I just recently added a little fixup about a Widescreen resolution crash some people experienced.
But I probably won't improve this current version. First because I'm pretty much happy with it and also because I prefer to move forward :-)
Now, I believe that a way to improve the mod, wouldn't be to "remake" or "add" stuff in that part, but it would be to Create the next part keeping in mind many of the feedback I got (make longer Action phase, now that I've shown the potential of the mod I might also get some english speaker actors ;-),... ) while still holding to my desire to make a character / story driven mod.

As soon as I get some news, I'll let you guys know :-)

Yes, I totally agree. It's just that I want to put all chances on my side. And for that only good contact it gave me, it probably was worth it :-)
Anyway, I believe the best way is definitely to go and meet the people from the industry, at events like the GDC.

Actually, I'd love to ! I even already made part of the 5th mission (pieces of it can be seen in the trailer :-) ).
The only thing is that, right now, I focus on the most important ; Get myself a job in the industry.
And this is actually what takes all my time right now. I just came back from the GDC in San Francisco (a little review can be read on my website www.rebellion-source.net) and that means even more contacts to make and maintain.
But well, once I'll get the job, I'd love to get back to work on Rebellion, and release at least one mission now and then !
So I'd say... it will come :-) Don't be too impatient... but it will come :-)

Make sure you have Half-Life² installed and that the "Rebellion" folder is correctly extracted in the "\Steam\steamapps\SourceMods" folder. Once it's correctly done, just restart Steam, and you should see the mod in your "My Games" tab :-)

Now, will you make it to find other "tributes" or easter eggs ? :-)

Haha :-) Actually, you first need to notice that this has nothing to do with the Half-Life² story.
So, at the beginning, you're part of the Confederation (a powerful army), and later on, you'll join the rebels which don't call themselves anything like that, it's just so that we know who we're talking about :-)

Well.. why am I saying all that ? Just play, you'll see by yourself ;-)

The first time you launch the game, it takes some times since it has to create a few files. But usually, it's just a question of seconds :-)
Hope you'll see the Menu screen this time ;-)

You opened the .rar file to extract the Rebellion folder into the Steam\steamapps\SourceMods folder, did you ? :-)
