Messed around with this some more. I don't play with the EFT Style Weapon Re-position so I don't know if this will work with that, but this worked to get the L85 functional for me:

How to fix if you're using mod organizer:

1) In Mod Organizer locate the L85 weapon configuration (gamedata>configs>items>weapons>w_l85.ltx

2) Open w_l85.ltx, save as something else somewhere else on your PC so you have a back up if this doesn't work

3) Close

4) Unload AWAR, hit 'Refresh' in MO to refresh the virtual mod directory

5) Open w_l85.ltx

6) Locate the line "shell_bone" = gilza

7) Replace with "shell_bone" = wpn_body

8) Locate the line: "[wpn_l85_hud]:hud_base"

9) Copy everything from the line "[wpn_l85_hud]:hud_base" to the line "fire_point2 = 0, 0, 0" (including those two lines)

10)Save, close, reload AWAR, refresh in Mod Organizer

11)Open the w_l85.ltx after reloading and refreshing in Mod Organizer

12) Overwrite everything from the line "[wpn_l85_hud]:hud_base" to the line "fire_point2 = 0, 0, 0" (including those two lines)with what you copied

13) Save and close

Should hopefully work. I haven't played for long to see if this will have big impacts on other aspects of the game, and I'm not very tech savvy so I can't confidently say this will 100% solve the problem, but it's got it working for me.

EDIT: You may have to unload EFT re-positioning as well, or just copy the lines from Blindside's w_l85.ltx without using MO by unpacking the .7z and copying the text from there. You'll still need to change "shell_bone" = gilza to "shell_bone" = wpn_body though.

The issue is caused because Blindside's added L85 animations in August. AWAR has not been updated to play nice with the new animations which seems to be the source of the issue.

I've been having a similar but slightly different problem. When I try to equip an L85 the game doesn't CTD but the weapon just doesn't equip. It seems to mess up the game because I can't switch away from the L85 unless I open my inventory and manually unequip it.

NPCs attempting to use the weapon just sort of stand around locked in a weapon draw animation.

Tried your fix, did nothing. On a hunch I unloaded AWAR (I'm using MO2) and tried your fix and the L85 worked perfectly. Turned AWAR back on and its back to being borked.

So there seems to be a conflict between AWAR and Blindside around the L85 (seems the L85 was added to Blindside in August 2021 but AWAR hasn't been updated since February).

Same issue here. Been messing about with load order this morning. User PYP had a suggestion on L85 CTD problem:

in the config, w_l85.ltx, in the hud section it lists "shell_bone" = gilza
however in the new hud models there is no bone named gilza. changing it to "shell_bone" = wpn_body
might help your crashing issue."

So I gave that a try. Did nothing.

I unloaded AWAR (I'm using MO2) edited the w_l85.ltx again, booted up the game and the L85 seemed to functioning perfectly fine.

Loaded AWAR, tried again, back to having the problem.

I'm not extremely tech savvy, but it seems to be a conflict between AWAR and Blindside. Source seems to be that the L85 was added to Blindside in August 2021, and AWAR has not been updated since February.

Hopefully someone smarter than me can come up with a workaround. I've just been not using the L85 but it feels a bit lame when you get into a pitched fire fight and then at the end of it there's one or two NPC enemies just standing around desperately trying to equip their L85s while you execute them.

So I recently started playing with this and a bunch of other add-ons and I ran into a similar problem. I'll take you through what I've figured out:

First of all, I'm not playing with a ton of mods, but I am running:
JSRS
SouvlakiFAL
BlindsideReanimation
BlindsideJSRSPatch
Awar

All on DX11 in that order. Small difference is that for me, when I attempt to equip the L85 no model appears. I can't switch away from the L85 unless I pop open the inventory and manually unequip it. It does not cause a CTD for me. NPCs attempting to use the L85 get stuck in an 'equip' animation and will just kind of stand there constantly trying to equip the L85.

Scrolling through comments here I came across a comment by PYP suggesting the following fix:

"in the config, w_l85.ltx, in the hud section it lists "shell_bone" = gilza
however in the new hud models there is no bone named gilza. changing it to "shell_bone" = wpn_body
might help your crashing issue."

I gave it a go, the problem persisted. On a hunch, I unloaded Awar (I'm using MO2), refreshed MO2, and made the change again to w_l85.ltx

Booted up the game, L85 appears to be functioning fine.

Turned AWAR back on, and I'm back to the problem.

I don't have a tech background, but my read on the situation is that there seems to be a compatibility issue between Blindside and AWAR. A quick look at patch histories and it seems Blindside added the L85 animations on August 21 2021, but there has been no update to AWAR since February.

Long story short: if you don't play with AWAR try editing the w_l85.ltx and it may fix your CTD. If you do play with AWAR I'm not sure what to do other then wait for someone smarter than me to figure out a better fix.
