There will be a proper bigger update 19th July that will among other things improve the AI and fix the army painter.

Send me a detailed report and maybe I can figure out what's wrong.

This mod doesn't affect your campaign only skirmish. If the screen doesn't say "Rites of War" than you most likely failed to launch it. Try using the new included launcher instead.

If you're experiencing issues make a proper report (how you installed it, what launcher are you using, your system details etc) and mail it to me. Sending me messages like "it doesn't work" won't help you. I and the moddb community can assure you that if you install it properly the mod works very well.

I made a mistake with the packing of 3.9 so the current army painter is still bugged, please don't use it. I will make another update in a couple of days.

ROW patch 3.9 will contain a launcher so you no longer need to make your own working shortcut, hopefully a slightly smarter but still aggressive AI, overall balance tweaks to vehicles and working army painter (it's not 100% yet but at least it will no longer crash your game). New content will be postponed to version 4.0.

Patch will release on Saturday.

"-- FATAL SCAR Error! --
FATAL Scar Error calling init function <>. Execution has been terminated!
-- Shutting Down Mission SCAR --"

Made some quick research and this error occurs if you play with a friend who's using a different mod or a different version of the same mod, it can also be a network error which are incredibly tricky to diagnose, and occur in a rather random pattern. This has however nothing to do with the mod itself so I cannot help you with this one.

This update will be delayed but will also include a finished working launcher for those who have trouble making one and probably some balance tweaks and new content.

Make sure it's installed into the right folder, you may be using a different operation system or changed your directory. If it is correctly installed you can either try making a retribution shortcut and add the path -dev -nomovies -modname ROW or wait for the next update, it will include a finished working shortcut for the mod. This will take a couple of weeks though as I just moved into a new apartment.

Apparently the AI got screwed up in 3.8 so there will be a new update next week, my apologies, it's more a gamble than an exact science.

There will never be an unpacked version of ROW. It would be enormous and take too long to upload and for most people it would be too difficult to install. I don't know which anti-virus you're using but this file should not read as a threat. In worst case you should get the message that it has unknown origin upon launch but if you're administrator it's not harder than to press "launch anyway". I suppose I could zip the exe file in the future.

"How to start the mod"?
People keep asking me about this so even though this is explained in the installer I will explain it here aswell.

Once you actually installed the mod you have to go into your STEAM library, right click your Retribution and go into properties, click "start alternatives" and add the text "-dev -nomovies -modname ROW". Now you're all set!

If you're not using STEAM then you have to make a Retribution shortcut go into the shortcuts properties click the "destination" text, after the retribution destination text add "-dev -nomovies -modname ROW".

ROW Version 3.8 mainly contains chaos updates such as customizable plague marines, divided chaos globals and a larger selection of chaos wargear. It also contains some new maps, improved ultimate units (haven't had time to balance check them so please let me know how it works out). A slightly dumber but more aggressive AI, and an Eldar surprise.

I've realized that I haven't made clear instructions on how to manually uninstall the mod. This is what you need to delete/replace:

"ROW" folder located directly in your retribution folder.
"ROW.module" file located directly in your Retribution folder.
"Mods" folder located in your Retribution/Game Assets folder.
"ROW.ucs" file located in your Retribution/Game Assets/Locale/English folder.
Replace or delete and repair the "DOW.ucs" file located in your Retribution/Game Assets/Locale/English folder.

I will make this easier with the next update.

There are some bugs related to the Necron Last stand patch that I still haven't figured out how to resolve so avoid using the army painter while the mod is active. Currently if you want to make a new color theme you have to deactivate the mod and then use the vanilla army painter then reactivate it. There's also some other minor text issues that will be resolved in the next patch along with some expanded content.
