Battlefield 4

Game review

It's impressive how much work DICE LA put into the game. It was horrible at launch, but it made a huge comeback and in many ways it's far superior to its prequels.

In its current state, the game is a great multiplayer game and a great experience. However, there are balance issues, especially between vehicles and between classes. The bloated gadgets are a huge reason for this; there are around 90-100 total weapons as well as the ability of 3/4 classes to effectively take out armor. BF4 made a good attempt to increase teamwork, but at the same time it discourages teamwork. It creates this situation where all the tools for teamwork are available, but just aren't necessary at all to win.

It is a very enjoyable game to play, especially after all of its patches, and despite its issues. Lots of lessons were learned from this game, and it'll hopefully pave the way to newer, better Battlefields in the future.

Alpha Project

Mod review

This mod really just pushes BF2 to its limits. It's a high quality mod with many unique features, most notably kit customization. The final 0.31 version is unfortunately more buggy than I'd like to see, but it is still one of the best mods for BF2 that has been made to this day.
