I have been modding Battlefield 2 for about four years now. My specialty is animation mixing and blending but I'm pretty experienced in a variety of areas, including BFmeshviewer and 3ds Max. I have also done a lot of work with texture editing and mesh hacking, with a focus on realistic specular lighting and shading effects. I have released some of my work on my YouTube page. If you click on the homepage link on my profile, that should take you to my channel.

Nice work! I'm waiting for a new version and its great to see it for the public too!

Also, I wonder if you replaced the PR content or did you get permission for it.

This is going to be a new mod, obviously a lot of stuff will carry over from the 1.5/1.6 version but it's been totally rebuilt from the ground up ;)

I have seen the name Heat of Battle on the YouTube so I was thinking that it is a Heat of Battle. Or did you mean that it's a complete remaster of the older versions and this will be in a new version for example 2.0 or 1.7?

Yeah it's basically Heat of Battle public version, but that's a lame name so I'm just going to call it Heat of Battle haha.

I see and will be there a changelog of things which are not in the public version? The only thing which I know about 100% that there will not be is PR content, but I don't know much about either one.

Mostly PR and AP content, so it's missing some effects, zoom shaders, and soldier models/textures. But I've got new soldiers to replace them, suppression feels even more intense, and the game runs more smoothly. It won't have quite the same weapon selection (that may come later) but it will have a bunch of new weapons, and the animation quality is better than ever. It definitely still has the Heat of Battle feel to it, which is why I think it deserves being called Heat of Battle :)

I understand, but its a pity if a mod like AP (which is no longer in development) can't share its stuff for other modders. Only a few weapons/armors or some vehicles would be nice since AP is a great mod, but the latest version has a lot of ported content + it crashes a lot. Especially when its a great mod like yours and not those which have ONLY ported content from other Battlefield games and other mods. The worst are those which doesn't even get them a credit to the original mod teams.

Haha, well as a modder who contributed significantly to AP, I can tell you that a lot of people put in a ton of time and effort into making AP great and it just wouldn't feel right for me to borrow those features even if I give credit. I'm certainly still using a few smaller things such as some sounds and similar vehicle tweaks. The key stuff like weapons and animations I already have plenty enough from other sources. I just want to give respect to the modders who did the really difficult work, that not even I can do ;)

That's true, but it's still a pity that those resources can't be used since this way the community will be smaller and smaller.

Looking forward on this mod. Its okay if it does not have so much content from other mods, and more focused on your own content, cuz we all know that this stuff is top notch already. Thumbs up mate. :P
