AAOw isn't going anywhere!

Sort of. It's actually a very outdated beta of America. It's mainly a graphical mod, and not the best. I'd wait for the completely redone v2.0, with both sides, AI, high-res textures, missions, new UI, etc. :)

What was killed in action?

An Act of War takes place in an alternate reality where the War in Iraq never happened. AAOW involves the United States, Iraq, and even North Korea. The singleplayer campaign takes you from Los Angeles to the beaches of Iran, to a last-ditch defense of Bagdad.

AAOW features the three new sides, full AI, an exciting 3D intro movie, new UI and menu systems, a new soundtrack, new effects, new sounds, a level of quality that's many times what EA had in the original game, several other surprises yet to be revealed, etc.

What's not original about that? ;)
