Hmm, make sure it's Stalker SOC version 1.0006 and that no other mods are installed. Beyond that I'm not sure, personally I played through with a Steam copy on Windows 10 so it should work. Usually problems are caused when it's not a fresh install.

My guess is you need to install the ENB after this mod because the ENB overwrites the xrGame.dll file. That's the only thing this mod changes related to rendering settings.

If you do overwrite the xrGame.dll file keep in mind that this means the FoV will be back to default (or whatever it is in the ENB) which could really screw up the weapon zoom. Not much I can do about that since they all need to be set at static FoV values and are not a multiplier of the base FoV.

Yeah you definitely can if you would like to! The FoV switcher I used was this one: Moddb.com

You should just be able to swap the xrGame.dll file out for the one that is created by that program (make sure you pick the STALKER SoC version 1.0006 version or it won't work).

Keep in mind that the FoV weapon zoom levels were changed to fit the higher base FoV (unfortunately it is not a multiplier which would make changing FoV easier). Ironsights are a 75 degree FoV as it is, so if you go too close to that it might feel like you're not zooming in when aiming, which may or may not be a thing that bothers you.

Hey! Are you sure that you applied the mod to a fresh install (not on top of any other mods) and didn't add any mods to it later? If you did maybe something broke because files were overwritten.

Also are you using Stalker SOC version 1.0006 from Steam or GOG? I have never had that issue and haven't heard of anyone else who had it, so I don't think it's a bug in the mod but that's hard to say for sure.

Lastly I would say maybe try a new play through if you were trying to load a save from the vanilla game or a different mod. Sometimes things can get weird if you try to load saves that are not compatible.

Howdy! STALKER automatically adds a log to your clipboard after it crashes. If you paste into a reply here right after a crash you should see some debug-ish looking text. If you reply with that I can take a look and maybe try to help you figure out what's causing the problem.

Btw, are you sure you are using a fresh version of STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl (ver. 1.0006) without any mods or anything?

Hello, glad you're liking it! I initially stripped ZRP out of the mod so that users didn't break anything on accident, but I've decided to add the "STALKER - Vanilla Twist (v1.0 w/ ZRP Modifier)" download which has what you are asking for in it. Enjoy!

P.S. Just keep in mind that the ZRP modifier program likes to overwrite files, and if it's a file I've modified then things will break.

From what I remember the modding ability of the three games is similar enough that it probably would be possible. However, I suspect that it wouldn't be trivial, and most of the work in this mod would need to be redone from scratch because of how much the scripts/configs get changed up between games.

As for me, unfortunately I don't think I'll have the free time to try and port this mod over anytime soon. Perhaps someday when I have lots of free time again!

These are definitely some interesting tweaks. I don't think I'll be adding much more to the mod beyond fixes though, mainly because I simply don't have much time right now (and also like you said I would like to keep the mod as vanilla as possible).

If you ever end up merging those mods in to this one let me know. I can add the variant to the download page, I think the optional patch idea is really cool!

I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed the mod. Thanks for letting me know what you thought!

I've thought about doing something similar for the other games, so maybe someday. However, it took quite a bit of time to do this mod and summer is almost over, so free time will be short for me soon. If I do anymore mods it probably won't be until winter break or even later.

If there is a popular FoV level people want to see besides 85 I could maybe do a couple skews of the mod (like a 85 FoV version, 75 FoV version, etc.) that fix this so people don't have to tweak it manually.
