5th - Progress Update

Nyrthos Blog

So.. many things happened during the last month or so.

First of all, we had to deal with all the press issues for the first time, which was fun, but pretty time-consuming. I guess everyone of you knows that :)

We are now testing the Starling 3D framework for flash and we are considering rewriting some parts of the game. That would let us awesomely improve some aspects of the game. We already have a working demo and it just seems wonderful.

Anyone here has experience in this? Please let me know so we can get in touch!

Best of all,

Martin

4th Blog Post - Back on Track

Nyrthos Blog

The media stuff is slowly drifting away; or, to better put it, is getting under control.

I managed to establish a workflow for the start of the day, when I check all the necessary stuff, and I cleared my PR lists to know who I am actually in contact with. I should sleep more peacefully now :)

The game progress is just fun to watch. We created a few new levels in the past few days and the game is pretty exciting. There is still a long way to go, but it actually already feels pretty good to play it!

This weekend, after some site updating (we need to finally put up a forum and a news section which we are seriously missing), I will hopefully manage to finish the UI graphics. That would be a huge leap forward, as the game visuals are pretty messy because of it.

Back to work! :)

Aaaaand the 3rd One - The Results

Nyrthos Blog

So.. I realize that these posts are more about the progress of the game spread and marketing than the game itself, but I just cannot control the excitement :)

Just a few days after the announcement of the game, we already have thousands of visits on our site, tons of media coverage and like the ten times more friends on FB and followers on Twitter. Seems like someone will actually read what we post now, which sounds like a pleasant change :D

The best of all, like 400 people already signed up for the beta. Now that is.. huge. We thought that we were going to get like 100 guys at all (before the beta starts) and so we put the button on the site; just to be sure to possibly catch anyone. This is crazy.

Gotta get back to work! Actually, I cant wait to get back to work :)

The Second Blog Post - What the Hell Happened?

Nyrthos Blog

In case you are interested in the development of our "media mission" (or if you are a developer yourself, which I guess you are, and are interested in the succession of things), READ ON!

So, after the announcement, a few things happened.

1. First of all, many of our friends added the game on facebook and visited the page. That was great, but.. you know.. theyre your friends, they kinda like whatever you do :)

2. Second of all, we got some valuable input from TWO of our friends, that really checked out the site and pointed out our mistakes.

3. And I sent some e-mails to game news servers in our country. Like ten of them. So far, we have 3 previews (2 of them on small servers, one of them on a MAJOR server games.tiscali.cz) and we will also have a coverage in the next issue of the biggest printed magazine in our little Czech Republic.

It feels great! Whats more, it seems like many people are interested in our game, for the cost of 10 mails. It really pays of to be polite and somehow personal with the journalists.

Next week, we will send the info to the major worldwide servers. What will happen? Well.. lets hope someone will be interested in Nyrthos! We really want to be close to the guys who might play the game and the sooner that happens, the better.

Thanks for reading! If youre interested in something concerning my e-mail to the press or whatever, ask right here. Ill be happy to respond_

The First Blog Post - The Announcement

Nyrthos Blog

Hello world!

So we announced our game today. What seems to be a small step for an average internet consumer (or mankind, as others would say) is a huge leap for us after years of development.

We already have one preview under our belt and we hope to attract some other guys willing to spread the word. Everyone who has seen the game loves the graphics and the feel of the game and it kinda seems like our decision to make it 2D will pay off in the end. Well.. lets see what tomorrow will bring (definitely something exciting).

Lets rock!
