i currently using combined mod 3.2 and downloading the 3.1.5 can i just update my current mod with this one and combine it or do i need to reinstall for fresh slate to make this mod successful??

i love this game, i once had a tower and played the original pirates of the caribbean and it was imense..

i not played for some time now and wanting to get it working, iv decided to go out and buy age of pirates 2 city of abandoning ships, costing me a arm and a leg to find might i add, and now it doesnt work, i play 10 mins of game play then it freezes and blanks to windows with "engine has stopped working" error appear, i REALLY want to get this game going, im currently downloading the combined mod hoping that will fix what evers wrong with my clean original version.

any advise, help or were to find latest information or even a step by step guild would be most appretiated!!!
