Name is Spencer Longtin, born in Arizona in 83' and have been a video game fan as long as I can remember. I love to design, map, model, uv, texture & compile for PC, though I'm not much for coding because I know nothing about it at this time. I've been customizing and modding game content for over a decade now, and started mapping years ago for Doom 2 & Duke Nukem 3d, and modeling with Caligari TrueSpace 3D. Now at days, all my modding is done through the Source engine. I've been a huge fan of Half-Life for years and use to map for CS 1.5, but when the Source engine came out I started getting insanely interested in learning how to customize almost everything, in hopes to make my own game. Currently I map, model & texture for HL2:DM, CS:S, TF2 +. Going to start a mod this year for the HL2:EP2 engine with a friend. So looking forward to housing it here. ^__^

Description

Fy_ruins_dawn

based off the simple, yet symmetrical and much played map, fy_iceworld, fy_ruins updates the gameplay of the iceworld style map to something more realistic and strategic.

this map has been in creation for more then 6 months to about a year. it has also been through a couple different versions/variations.

this one particular, has had my "ancient stairs" taken out, because of conflicts with a latest CS:S update. their used to be buttons that trigged scalable little blocks that come from out of the pillars, that would lead you to the top of the towers. use to have awps n grenades on the very tops of the 4 pillars. but now since the update, for some reason with the func_doors i was using as scalable blocks, they just push u back and ur not able to press up against them, like before. making it very difficult to even use them now.

So, I decided releasing this version without them. That way hopefully it also brings more play into the map.

I hope everyone enjoys this map, and I would hope to get some feedback, comments, suggestions, etc. I for sure plan on releasing in the future an expanded version of this map if it gets enough play.
