Keep searching for the other "depot_###_dir" VPK files. There's gotta be one with a "hl" folder with a "scenes" folder in it. You may have to reinstall Source SDK 2007.

I posted two comments below telling how i solved these problems. See if it helps.

For those who are having problems with NPCs not talking or executing the scripts/scenes they're supposed to, i found a way to fix this. First you'll need to install Source SDK Base 2007, you should find at the "Tools" section of your Steam library; then you'll need to download and install GCFScape. Then, go to your Steam folder, then go to SteamApps\common\Source SDK Base 2007\vpks. There, open the "depot_309_dir" VPK file using GCFScape; inside the "hl2" folder in it, extract the "scenes" folder to the SMOD Redux install directory at Steam\SteamApps\sourcemods, right into the "smodredux" folder. Once you've done that, the problem should be fixed. Restart Steam just to make sure.

For those who are having problems with the main menu not loading some levels when selecting "new game", download this file: Mediafire.com then unzip it, extract the "gameinfo" text file and the "scripts" folder to the main install directory of SMOD Redux. It should be at Steam/SteamApps/sourcemods/smodredux. If it asks if you want to replace a file or merge folders, say yes. Once you've done that, the problem should be fixed. Restart Steam just to make sure.

Oh...i see. you've "cut" the most of the levels, is that why it randomly quits at some parts of the game? Isn't there a way to make it more "playable" in the next updates?

It's cool...except that it keeps crashing randomly, rendering it almost unplayable, which is NOT cool.

No offense, but how am i supposed to enjoy your mod and rate it as a good one that way?
