Carnivores Far North

Early access mod review

This mod is great in every way, maps, animals and weapons are all 10/10. Each animal has great models and exceptional animations. Each one also has an unique "character" which really helps keeping each one from the other. This is also the first mod to include a quality weapon roster, each one has its own role and each one is fun in their own right to use. The only thing keeping me from playing this mod consistently is the lack of maps but I'm sure that will change for the next release.

Jurassic Park: Revolution

Mod review

Long story short: this mod is damn worth a download

OK so the maps are all great. They are admittedly lower than the likes of Triassic maps, but are more than enough to make a good hunting experience.
Each one has enough character to distinguish it from the others. The objects in the maps I have to say are the best out of any mod, being the huge bamboo forests or the fully detailed helipads and little enclosures with ticket ques.

The dinosaurs, well what can I say. Easily the highlight of the mod. Brilliantly crafted skins from Rodrigo himself, and bought to life in the form of animation by tormer, both aspects being near enough perfected as far as carnivores modding goes.

The menus, holy crap the menus. These menus are just phenomenal. A great first impression for when you load up the mod, all aspects of the menu just work. It's really that simple.

Alright so the worst was saved for last. The weapons. The weapons suffer in most carnivores mods as it is, but in comparison to the other aspects of the mod, they suffer the most. I respect that the weapons were all crafted from new instead of taking overused popular models in the community (even though i'm pretty sure they were taken from a model site.) They seriously lack in texture for the most part being one or two solid colours from the first person perspective. My suggestion is that you model the weapons from ground up, you can get away with any other props or animals, but being in your face basically the whole experience, the lack of detail really shines.

That being said, the mod is worth the download, easily the best Jurassic park based carnivores mod.
