I'm using DE Patch 2 and GoG version of the game. Its my 54th Galactic Day when I encountered this problem:

My game just froze looking at the Galactic map, well not entirely I can still move my cursor and the musical piece still plays in the background, When I revert back to my older saves before galactic day 54 the game runs smoothly aside from the occasional crashes when I save, good thing there's an auto save.

Questions & Inquiries ingame:

About the Ronto Assault Walker. When the shield is depleted it doesn't regenerate back up, is this intentional or a bug?

About the Shields in Ships and Starbases. It felt weaker, 6 squadrons of fighters can bring down an Imperial II Star Destroyer Shield and destroy its shield generator.

There's this one time I'm defending a Lvl 3 Mandalorian Starbase with 4 Lictor frigates and The Iron Hand against a bunch of New Republic corvettes and a fleet worth of frigates. The Iron Hand destroys any ships that is in front of it and Lictor frigates absorb all the blows the enemy could give for the first 15 mins my defense is solid, its a simple tactic that is until the AI thought of Rebel Alliance BS Strategy, The Enemy stopped its advance of frigates and send a pair of CR90 Corvettes to do a suicide flyby towards The Iron Hand ignoring the Lictor ships and completely depletes The Iron Hand shields and destroys the main gun which is the only thing that stops those enemy frigates from overwhelming my defense fleet.

So yeah it would be great if the shield mechanics were like in the Forces of Corruption or Empire at War where fighters and corvettes can barely scratch the surface of a capital or starbase shields. Honestly I didn't use any bombers in my fleet combats when ships shields are useless against the fighters.
