More into that second prototype.

lparkermg Blog

So since my last post here I've been working on the second prototype.

As you can see from the video above, I'm using seed based level generation, which had actually taken a bit of work and testing for it to actually work. Due to the nature of the level parts I had to do a check comparing the previous and new part id in case they weren't compatible.

This still happens but I plan on adding a feature to get around that.

Since the prototype is more or less in working order I'm going to start on doing the actual game very soon, so look out for the new game being added here along with development updates over at moongate-uk.co.uk.

A Second Smaller Prototype

lparkermg Blog

As you may have seen from my blogpost yesterday, I'm currently in the process of prototyping a few new ideas. One of which is looking to be a story based PC game and this second one, a casual mobile game, geared towards those who has a bit of time on things like bus commutes etc.

The game itself will most likely be for android and feature a more simple visual style (The colours will change from the prototype above).

Even though this is only in the prototyping and concept stage (looking more and more likely to be actively developed soon.) I already have a list of features for this specific project, and they include the following:

  • Randomly Generated Levels.
  • Leaderboard Intergration.
  • Time Attack Gamemode.
  • Infinity Gamemode.

This concept is still early on with development, but if the prototyping goes well then this may be the small project for the next month along with prepping for the Escape From Infinity release and the other PC prototype.

Voxles and new Prototypes

lparkermg Blog

Since I'm coming to the tail end of my current project Escape From Infinity I've started working on a few prototypes for my next project.

As you can see from the video above I've decided to go with using voxels on an Isometric style.I still need to work out things such as gameplay and game mechanics but at the moment I'm gearing towards a story driven puzzle game.

The above video is a second one I done, without the particles in the centre through.
