I decided to fire up my old baby today. A forty-minute push and shove against two vaygr Ais ensued. Playing as Warlord Ishele with a hiigaran Manaan ally, I spent half the game hanging on by my fingertips, fighting back wave after wave of capital ships and strike craft while struggling with a nasty shortage of ressources.
The only thing keeping me in the game was a fleet of two carriers sending repeated strikecraft raids at the nearest vaygr. The first two attempts failed miserably, leaving me vulnerable and about to get outflanked. In the deciding moment however, my daring bomber and missile corvette pilots launched a speed-boosted attack on the enemy's resource and production operations that caused a major onslaught to falter just before it overran me.
The resulting chaos allowed me to single out the enemy's capital ships and, with a surprise attack on the other Ai by my valiant hiigaran comrades, push all the way to their invasion carrier.
