True Stalker

Mod review

The mod met all expectations for me personally. The plot is lengthy, and most importantly, interesting. The mod starts quite slowly, but somewhere from the third chapter everything began to go in one breath.

The strongest side of the mod for me is the plot. Each chapter has its own unique approach to telling the story, and the side quests don't disappoint either. There is mysticism, experiments by scientists, gang warfare, and simply stories from the life of stalkers. Lots of scripted scenes with high-quality voice acting. But a lot of work has also been done on the locations (the old locations have been greatly redone, and the new ones are made at the highest level, there is a lot of detail and many hidden Easter eggs), and the interface has also been completely redesigned. The new interface looks harmonious and is easy to use. And of course, we shouldn't forget about the excellent art in the menu and on loading locations.

I recommend it to everyone, but keep in mind:

1) The plot here is quite linear, the authors tell a complete story. That is, with the exception of the final part, there will not be very many variations here, and in any case everything will come to a common conclusion. There are some opportunities for roleplaying, but still the character's traits are more or less static throughout the story.
2) Life simulation is not rich, since this is a story mod, and active living creatures could break something. In general, the level of simulation is approximately the same as in SoC, maybe even a little less.
3) In terms of balance, the mod also follows the trilogy, it is quite easy even on the master, there is Gunslinger to diversify the gameplay, but in general it is easy to save up for good equipment.
If these moments don’t bother you, then I think you’ll like the mod. Are there any controversial decisions here? Well, I personally have almost no complaints about anything, but questions may arise (say, why does the hero get hit on the head so often?). And yet, if you look at all the work done as a whole, it turns out to be one of the best stalker mods that exist. A lot of work has been done here on almost every element of the game, and it all really adds up to a seamless gameplay experience. Definitely worth playing through, just don't expect the same gameplay as survival games like Anomaly. It's just a different approach.
