Hey man, I'm -=Martini=-, the designer of the aoe3 enhancement mod on moddb. I want to congratulate you on this mod and the amazing texture designs your team has made. My fans have been pleading me to add some of your visual content into my mod, and to please them I have decided to ask for permission to use some of the artillery skins in your mod. I do not wish to leech all the hard work you guys have done and will not request any of the fresh building skins or new ottoman units. Again I kindly ask to use your artillery skins. Let me know if you are ok with it :)

Thank you very much for your comment. I've been very busy lately and have not been maintaining my mod for a while. Perhaps sometime in the future I may revisit some stuff.

I'll most likely release another update towards the end of the year.
As for this N3O fan patch AI, does it make the ai send more eco cards? and does the ai build walls? I may try fusing it with mine if its good enough. I would just need to make it build all the new buildings my mod adds to the game.

yea, rifle riders are not classified as heavy cavalry anymore, only as light cavalry as all ranged cavalry are. Also another thing to note about them is they have an increased rate of fire, meaning they fire shots faster deal damage faster then other ranged gunpowder cavalry in the game.

It actually does train some stuff and build warhuts on expert difficulty, but on hard and lower difficulties it seems to do nothing as you say. Definitely something I'll try to look into in the future.

The bonus against "infantry" refers to all foot units except villagers, whether they be heavy or light infantry, skirmisher-type units or grenadiers and sappers. Heavy and light infantry are just sub-groups of hand infantry and some units have a specific bonus against them. Hope this helps.

New civs aren't the objective of this mod to be honest. I know its fresh and fancy to chuck some in but it takes a load of work, way more then all the recent patches I've deployed over the past month. The Swedes and Italians in the Improvement Mod are kinda bland as well, like they have barely any unique units or homecity cards that make them distinguishable. For a new civ to be truely meaningful and breathtaking, they would need a wide assortment of new militaries and many unique techs to make their playstyle stand out, not just 1 or 2 unique units and buildings. To create something better really requires full-time devotion, that which I can't commit to, so don't expect any.
As for the NE stuff, the creators were not happy that I took a bunch of their skins. I sort of got away with it as all I have are the really old 2008 ones done by the previous team, but I'm certainly not adding anymore, I have to show respect to other modders, regardless if some aspects of their mods are bad or whatnot, can't just pinch their work.

I see, well most RTS fans look down on this leveling system, simply because traditionally, everyone should start out with fair and equal access to everything, and of course many cards are stronger then others and require certain level to be reached. My advice is, uninstall my mod following the instructions provided in the mod download section, create level 10 homecities in the modless game version, then reinstall my mod and play them.
And yea, the creator of Improvement Mod has a thing for pirates lol. He even put the Pirates of the Caribbean ost in it for the ingame music bahaha.

My apologies for spamming updates haha. I am really gonna give it a rest now. But don't get what's that got to do with having instant access to a level 120 homecity? True, you can edit the hc files in the folder but unless you really favor starting at level 10 and leveling up (which a lot of people just don't hence why I implemented this) it makes it more convenient for everyone.

For this not to happen you need to toggle custom maps on in the skirmish setup screen and use maps from the list provided.

Sadly no support for Mac currently. If someone maybe showed me how to create an installer for Mac on a PC, I'd strive to get one to all.

Okay, so quite recently there has been a modding tool released that allows a player to vs ai for new civs like the US, and select them from the 'start new homecity' tab. However, there's a big issue involved. There are game files responsible for all ai behavior and strategies, and the US being a custom civ wouldn't be read properly by the current ai. So it wouldn't create and upgrade soldiers properly or manage its economy right. And modifying the ai behavior files is really hard, no modder from aoe3 has ever really figured everything out in it from my knowledge.
If you really want to vs the US, try Mando's Improvement Mod. But you'll definitely see that its ai is quite horrible.

Mm strange, there's no reason why my mod would erase your campaign progress upon installation. Guess you just have to start over.

well you can have all those mods installed and run them separately but you can't combine all their new features together in-game.

Yes so your directory should be set to:
D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Age Of Empires 3\bin

PROVIDED you bought the game on Steam.

And my mod unlike most others, strives to make the campaigns much better, although I can't promise the additions are 100% flawless.
And please note, the 1st mission of the Blood campaign (Siege of Malta by Sahin and the Ottomans) can possibly cause the game to stop running once its completed, this also happens on the base game without any mods and I have no idea what is causing it.

Nope, you simply cannot install and merge different aoe3 mods together.

I appreciate your good spirit :)
Btw, re-download v1.6 after you read this comment. I made a sneaky quick fix just before and couldn't be bothered renaming my release as v1.6.1. Details have been added to the article post.

..probably not, but could you please provide more details? When exactly does the game crash? Is it during or after the mission?
Also have you played the japan campaign recently with no mods installed and if so, did you have the same issue? For example, the 1st mission of the Blood campaign seems to freeze the game when its completed for many people who run and don't run my mod, it may be some isolated compatibility issue, no idea.

Did you set the directory to C:\My Documents\My Games\
?
If that doesn't work, its possible your My Games folder has been set to a different location on your computer, try locating it and determining its directory path.

Try C:\My Documents\My Games\
Best to manually browse the directory yourself on your machine as the default one I provided is not accurate across all OS.

No AOE3 mod including this one is compatible with another due to the nature of the game files, unless it ONLY enhances graphics.

If you go to multiplayer and select LAN in the main menu, you can create a skirmish game with you as the Japanese and also have the Tokugawa AI as your ally or enemy. You don't need anyone to join you for this to work, just fill the slots with AIs.

Go to Programs & Features and locate the Enhancement Mod v1.5.8 app and click on the uninstallation option. Then download the File Restoration Installer and run it to retrieve any lost files for the original game.

Guys, I also added hotkey support for most of the new European & US military units as well as the resource production buildings (Council's Hut, Lumber-camp, General Store, Bank) and the Recruitment Post. However less significant buildings like the native towers have not received hotkeys and mercenaries at the Recruitment Post also didn't get any assigned.

Ahh I see. Yea the game is hardcoded to have 250 max pop even if you make new techs to increase maximum capacity.
I will try release a small update in the next 7 days to fix issue 2 and a few other tiny tweaks.

Thank you for your comment. You are the first to make a proper report in over 2 months for my mod haha. Let me address your points:

1. I tried the mother earth dance out on post imperial age and I got +20 pop with 20 villagers... the value increased by one for each villager, so on my side nothing is wrong here.

2. You are correct with the war chief resurrection. Damn.

3. Have 2 town centers up and research civilized government. You will be able to hit 240 pop with the Sioux :)

4. I knew about this problem and never addressed it as it would be a bit too advantageous to always have those minor natives enabled + the upgrade techs provided from their native site on those given maps. On any other map, you would need the Blood Brothers HC card and research Legendary Natives to get the best out of these enabled units.

5. It is possible to add hotkeys to all the new units. I know someone who has done it to their mod. But it comes at price, cuz when you modify the files responsible, the game can break if you do certain things in the settings.. it's best to leave it as it is.

6. Perhaps, but the thing is that I nerfed all siege damage done by hand infantry in the game, leaving grenadiers as the main foot soldier specialists for it for European nations. I also boosted their ranged attack a bit. And sappers, they are really powerful against artillery which are more expensive and take more pop. They also have armor against siege damage which means they can tank a fort or any cannon fire if used properly, which basically no other units in the game can do. So I think its balanced man.

I would fix points 2 and 4 for you, but I feel its just not enough to work with to hustle with a release of a new version. The community is rather dead and I assume the mod is basically flawless as you said or everyone just prefers to play more heavily modified mods. But we'll see.

Hi Kizuato

Basically no, if you try installing other mods over my mod, some files will clash and you won't get features from both and there will probably be many things that would break in-game.
