It works on Steam but I can't run steam as I'm using Debian stable 64 bit. Maybe in the future I will be able to play this game. I just got a refund for now. Come on Steam! Make a new install file for 64 bit Debian Squeeze!

I had that problem on Debian Squeeze 64 bit. I successfully compiled libpng15.so.15 from source and I still received that error.
It turns out I had inadvertently managed to update libpng12-0 at some point? To a newer release so I forced it back to 1.2.44-1+squeeze4 with Synaptic Package manager. This solved the problem for me! Good Luck.
