I've been trying to learn 3d modeling and how to use photoshop, but time is almost an issue for me.

Anyway, It will work, I'm sure :D

Well, look for courses that offer that? I'm doing a Games Design and Programming course this September, and they cover 2D and 3D modelling, as well as animation and level design.
Look around is the only advice I can say, or just use your free time, but the issue with that is social life, and actual work :/

I'm doing atm a major on Information Systems. After that, I'll do a Game Design and probally a drawing course :D
