While I certainly don't expect an updated mod within four days, it would be nice to see a message from the creator letting us know that they were working on the issue, or aware of it but working on it later when they have more time... Something. Instead of sitting here wondering if the creator has even LOOKED at the messages posted here.

I think the mod may be broken. Just downloaded the newest version of the game from Steam, installed the mod, and the game stalls at startup and won't progress. Once I restored the WIN\TidesOfNumenera_Data\Managed\Assembly-CSharp-firstpass.dll file, everything was working again, but obviously without the console I can't actually DO anything...

Right. Nephew. Whatever, point still stands.

There is one final suggestion I have today, but it is on a completely different topic so I'm posting it separate.

Investigating people.

Eddard Stark had heard rumors and so he chose to investigate Joffery's heritage. That kind of thing is a scripted event, but strange. Everyone who has heard the rumor should have the opportunity to investigate, however those without his resources should have less a chance of discovering the truth. Being Hand of the King helped a lot with that research.

Likewise, when Aegon supposedly shows himself and attacks the Iron Throne with the Golden Horde, anyone should be able to try and research to find the truth of his heritage, and upon success, have the option of spreading the knowledge. As a Targaren, (namely Danerys) one would think she'd be interested in knowing if her brother was indeed alive and well. I'd been assaulting the Throne on my own, and suddenly a man shows up claiming to be my long lost brother, and I have no possible interactions with him? I get the notice about Aegon even if I am still all the way in the Dothraki Sea, but even if I get him into my very own court as a courtier or vassal, I have no option to explore and see if this is indeed my brother. This is not very immersive.

One could easily see an event where I discover that he is indeed my brother, or he finds out I have dragons and approaches me (hoping to get one or more of them no doubt) trying to form an alliance to "reclaim the Iron Throne" for our family.

Negotiating the terms of such an alliance would be difficult and have three options, 1) No alliance, 2) Alliance, he sits Iron Throne upon victory, 3) Alliance, I sit Iron Throne upon victory.

Simply put, having some way of investigating things would be more fun, and having a chance of interacting with people in more ways is always a nice experience.

The other thing is small, but needed. Having some sort of checkbox to "never see again" the messages about winter and summer for each and every province, or getting rid of them entirely. The "Winter is Coming" / "Winter has Ended" from the wall are enough. The more land you grasp, the more annoying those messages for every county are. It gets to the point of absurdity and outright anger and frustration because they're pointless.

The mod is excellent, but I think tweaking the things found in these three comments, (even if not exactly as I suggest) could raise it's immersiveness and overall fun for everyone.

Another problem.

Valyria.

The land is completely useless except as a visual piece. This is also not making sense. We *know* that characters have the ability to enter Valyria. Euron Greyjoy has been there and found a Valyrian Steel suit of armor (something desperately needed in-game) as well as the horn Dragonbinder. Tyrion Lannister has been there, (well, close at least) as has his relative who lost the Lannister's sword there.

I don't suggest making the land habitable, but perhaps allowing troops to navigate it? They should suffer attacks while travelling through from those "Stone Men" those on whom the greyscale has been so virulent as to transform them completely (or almost so) into monsters and their very minds are affected.

However these hosts should only enter if they have a commander, and if they have one, then the commander(s) should randomly have a chance of finding Dragonbinder (should Euron not have it already) Valyrian steel items (swords, armor, crown) several different types of books on Valyrian lore that would allow various things depending on what was found in them. Valyrian magic (allowing them to build "temples" that serve as magical centers of learning if they have converted to the Valyrian religion) or help with the taming and raising of dragons allowing for better Dragon Pits to be built that ensure the dragons will not fly off to dragonstone at the owner's death, and do not hamper their growth rate with still assisting with their birth rate and reproduction rate. Perhaps lore on the training of dragon, raising the chance of successfully taming one. Finally, upon gathering all of this lore, those in your Dynasty who have dragonrider status could be advanced to Dragonlord status like the dragonriders of Old Valyria. (Dragonlords could perhaps lose the coin-flip of genius VS madness that the Targaren's and others who claim the lineage have. Perhaps the madness is brought on by more than just their incestual history, but by the Sorcery in their blood when not properly trained.)

Also, perhaps there could be a chance of encountering Euron there and getting his suit of armor and Dragonbinder if he was still there himself, although you'd likely have to kill him for them. Or finding the Lannister's long lost sword.

This could also be done through an event type decision instead, where you get the choice to "Brave the Doomed Lands" in an attempt to find something from ancient Valyria. High chance of death unless you own the lands and have cleared them of Stone Men (more on this below) but a chance of surviving and not getting greyscale and coming home with something worthwhile.

The land itself should be interactive in other ways too. One could claim the lands, but then be forced to clear the land of Stone Men. Claiming the lands would allow you to spend money on an event that excavates a specific county looking for items (swords, armor, horns, crowns, lore) and you'd get a percentage chance over time to get the item you chose to search for instead of having to have troops stationed there with a leader character present.

This is Game of Thrones, but it is not the show. Valyria should have a much more interesting part to play than simply being blasted lands with no hope of recovering them. Again, I'm not suggesting that we make the lands recoverable, (although I'd personally like that, nothing in the lore supports it as far as I know) but just interactive in some lore-friendly manner.

There is one major problem. Something that makes absolutely no sense in any way.

The "Face the Dragon" decision requirements.

In order to face the dragon, none of your close relatives can also be dragonriders? What the hell is that? Some artificial method of keeping dragons from being in one family?

My mother (Danerys Targaren) had a dragon, my sister and father had a dragon. My mother died, and the dragon remained in her city. As her heir, I now ruled. I could not even *try* to tame my mother's dragon, all because my father and sister both had dragons.

That makes no sense. Lore wise, dragons were often passed down from parent to child, and we know of that brothers and sisters all had dragons. Aegon the Conqueror is just one of the notable occasions.

Old Valyria had entire families of Dragon Riders. The idea that one cannot tame a dragon, wild or passed from one family member to another, simply because a close relative already has one flies in the face of everything we know about the world of Ice and Fire.

And on that note, a suggestion. Perhaps taming a dragon that has been passed down from a close relative is easier than one that is not? Say, having a better chance of the dragon not flying away to dragonstone, and a better chance at becoming its rider?

I think of it like a direwolf in the show. While each direwolf had one owner, the other members of House Stark could go near without worrying about being attacked, and even instruct them to some extent. The wolf would obviously listen to its master first and foremost, but it did recognize family to some degree.
