Ultimate Apocalypse Mod (DOW SS)

Mod review

It's a very brutish type of mod, that, it's true, adds many more things but is very lore unfriendly and has lost all the original tactical aspect of the game.
It adds more things for the sake of adding more things, and while in the original game every unit had a very precise purpose, that made it so you had to choose which unit you want to recruit for battle according to the situation and the opponent, this mod tactic is based on this : "gain money, spam random units, upgrade them, and if you do that faster than your opponent, you're probably gonna win".
If you want to make a good mod, don't have the arrogance to think you can make something better than an original game that is already very good. Don't change but just add things. When I told the modder that I used to use the Fire Warrior and the Pathfinders together in the vanilla game and that in his mod these two units had lost this complementary aspect to become just shoot-to-kill units(they became almost identical), he told me that pathfinders were useless, that he never used them in the original game anyway, and that Tau were overpowered. That just proves his untactical mind and his unability to see every unit single purpose.
In summary, it's very frustrating to play this game, because it adds every single unit you wish to see in a DoW mod, even for the Dark Eldar, which are generally contempted and not changed by modders (we're in 2017 and we still don't have a mod that gives them their new models. I think that I'm gonna do that myself !), but you cannot enjoy completely this potential, because when you play you feel like "yeah I have this unit, but why would I spam it more than an other ? They just do the same anyway !".
The difference between UA and a mod like Titanium Wars for example, is the same difference there is between the shopping center and the local food. In the first one, you can find more variety, but it's just less good because modders like Gr0rc (TW) kept exactly the same base game by only adding stuff, which is like finely painting and decorating a beautiful clay pot. But you decided to break the pot to make a whole another from new clay, a risky bet that in my opinion you lost. Please, keep all the new units there are in your mod and simply add them to the base game without changing nothing about it. And when you add new units, make sure they have exactly the same role that in the codex. Game conceptors and GW team didn't take years to create a balanced good game that is played by thousands of players in the world for you to come, say that it sucks and a do a whole new thing.
