I don't think I'll get into development any time soon, maybe decades from now. I have no experience in modding, it'll take hundreds of hours for me to even start mapping. I tried and failed at mapping in Red Orchestra, even with the tutorial.

Flightless dragons = chinese/japanese/asian dragon without the idea of flight without wings.

There are already games out where you can play as a dragon, but most of them aren't really deep, or even made properly. Lair pretty much failed in everything except visuals, for example.

For balance I was thinking of the flightless dragons having an advantage in close-combat, like in forests. And for the flighted dragons they probably have an advantage in open areas, so it would be mountain ranges, because I think the humans would have the advantage on an open flat field if they can see them coming from miles away.

It would depend on the density of the forest, if it's too dense then it'll be hard for dragons to fly through it without potentially injuring themselves. It would be good cover for the humans against them, but not against the flightless dragons.

I decided to publish the design document...I'm probably not going to get around to development anytime soon. But I will still develop the story more.

Is this mod still alive?

Aw man, I just went through some of my mod list picking off the mods that haven't updated for a year. Most of those failed, about 20 of them. They had great potential and just disappeared.

Howdy all, we have some sad news for all of you fans who have been keeping track of our progress. Our lead mapper R_Yell has decided to leave this project. We know some of you already know this, but today I write this official announcement to close this chapter. Though we tried both reaching a deal it came to conclusion that it was not the best interest of our project to proceed. Anyway, R_Yell has been with us over a year and has been doing exceptional work. He's quite talented in his level design skills that helped him lead the mapping team. His maps, Presido and El paso inspired some of the scenes of the great Spaghetti Westerns of all time. However, none of his work was left here with us to finish this project. He decided to take most of his work including some code work to pursue the creation of a new spaghetti western mod. For that reason there will be delays in the completion of this project. All of us here want to thank R_Yell for the good times we had here and for the help and guidance he has given to fellow mappers on the team. We wish you good luck and we will miss you!

On the bright side we have come to agreement with a merge with EastWest Mod (http://www.eastwestmod.com)...both of our projects will remain intact without any changes to our websites or forums. We still retain our project names and all we're doing is collaborating and bringing our work together to bring the spaghetti fans what they want. At the moment we are still welcoming team members to join us work on tbis project, particularly coding gurus who can dream like a Spaghetti gunslinger. Hey maybe they didn't delete it after all, but just didn't import it. I found it. Go to the forums and you still have the old version of ModDB, and click on your PMs. I tried doing that a long time ago but it just redirected; now it doesn't. It's all good, I have all the stuff back now. I just have to save everything to my HD so I won't lose anything if it gets wiped later. :D

Seems like the PM system is back. Just as I thought, it's been wiped. I know I've lost some info, but I don't even know what it is! Arg.

It's a good think they transferred the comments...there's a lot of good info stored there. What the hell happened to the PM's?! I knew I should've saved them, and I did, but there's still some that didn't make it.

I read up to and including the 5th book, the Order of the Phoenix. But that was back when I was 13, so I can barely remember anything. When the 6th book came out in 2005 I had completely lost interest by then.

Just scanning the Wiki page on HP, I see that the critics mostly praise just the writing itself, but this quote makes me think twice: "John Granger...believes the books carry a "mother-lode" of deeper literary and symbolic meaning than meets the eye."

I'll admit I'm probably just jealous (wrong word?) though. A lot of people at work keep talking about Harry Potter.

Oh btw. My definition of a good book is one that: 1) has style and substance to the writing 2) includes concepts and philosophy for the reader to ponder 3) relates to the real world in its concepts and philosophy 4) uses cliche tastefully...I've probably missed some points, but there you go. I guess what I'm trying to say is, like a good movie, the book will go past trying to simply entertain; it needs to make a point. Authors have something they want to say, to throw out to the world, just like everyone else. If whatever they want to say isn't developed enough, then the book will suffer. For example - my definition of a good book isn't developed, so it sounds rushed, stupid, etc.

There's loyalty and dedication for ya. It's hard to let go of something you've been a part of for a long time. The officers killed it didn't they?

What happened to that clan anyway? Did it just dwindle and everyone started leaving or is it still there.
