I first started this game early Spring of 2017, and immediately I was hooked; I had spent a two months without a PC, so when I finally built my new one I wasn't expecting the first game I played to be this browser game! The developer (or Admin, as he is affectionately known in-game) shows passion in what he does, as is evident in the depth, as well as the updates that are regularly pushed out. As such, the first few months of this game were very fun, and I managed to partake in many of the supported activities that the game boasts, including diplomacy, city-building, and large scale battles.

However, I have noticed a frightening change in the game during the last two months of this review being posted. I should mention that I am an avid Eve Online player of many years, so I think of myself of having thick skin, and am used to scheming. The biggest problem of this game at the moment is the community itself; at the moment, the game is controlled by a mega coalition of the top players. And unfortunately, due to them having an advantage owing to the fact that they started early on in the game, it is all but impossible for new players to join them; it is either join them in some way or the other, or be wiped out lest they see you as a potential threat. I have always been a major advocate of a server reset in order to make things temporarily even once more (especially during a time of wanting the game to grow with new players!), but the most powerful (and usually oldest players) are also the most vocal, resulting in the admin announcing that there will never be a map reset.

While this game has amazing depth and a passionate developer, the community completely ruins it. The top players control the pace of the game, and at this point it is nearly impossible to catch up to them even WITHOUT them being members of a mega coalition. If you simply wish to city build, it is easiest to join them, keep quiet, not cause trouble, and pray they don't ever find you suspicious of treason lest you wake up in the morning to find your domain a smoldering ruin and your character in the middle of a kangaroo court.
