Unfortunately, Imperator Carolus wasn't able to lead his army properly due to the fact that he was a massive newbie at commanding his own forces. His death ended the long subjugation of Saxons under Roman rule.
Not forgetting to note that 35% of his army was composed of Farmers who had barely wielded anything other than billhooks and kitchen knives all their lives...
