I am glad that You liked some of those ideas. If it is possible then please do not make squad gear dependent on number of resource points. If player already has a certain number of RP-s meaning that all squads that are bought have exos and powerful guns, game becomes too easy. Keeping player on their toes gives a good reason to play further besides running and gunning that we all probably have done million hours in STALKER :) Just money so that one resource point pays only a little bit more than upkeep of one squad so that player can’t fill whole map. If giving armor to player squads or making armor level dependent on the number of squad kills is too complex to program then a good compromise would be if all friendly squads have medium armor and player just outfits them with guns. Outfitting friendlies has been done in CS (first done in Faction Commander) and maybe that code can be used. FC also had possibility to upgrade armor of one special squad, maybe that code helps also. One possibility could be that player can buy squads of different level but better squads cost massively and upkeeping them costs also more. Our economy and basically all the world works on the principle that scarcity creates value that gives us our basic goals and reasons.
Remembered one thing - calling in squads has been done in CS mods, maybe it helps.

I created account in Moddb just for this mod as You are welcoming some ideas. This is probably the third time when somebody enhances faction wars. Best memories where with Faction Commander where I disabled friendly spawning completely. In TFW player was more like a bystander (haven’t played recent incarnations though). I haven’t yet tried this mod as I want to finish vanilla CoC first so it is possible that some of those ideas are actually there. What I have read, I understand that there is a heavy spawning and action constantly going on. It is fun buy all means. What I propose might be probably done so that player has a slider for spawning speed and couple of other switches to make game either more combat oriented or strategy/survival oriented. Primary idea is the possibility to disable friendly spawning completely and make spawning squads cost money. New members have always only basic gear. Player gives weapons to other faction members and these weapons have to have condition beyond eg 75%. Weapon upgrades count. Weapons have no wear in NPC hands or every squad has a mechanic who can do basic maintenance. This idea could be enhanced so that every defended location has a stash that can be filled with useless weapons that enable repairing. NPC-s could gather dropped weapons but occasionally there are shortages so player has to keep an eye on critical heavily hammered locations where weapons have higher wear. For friendly NPC’s armor I have two ideas - player either loots them from corpses, repairs and gives them to buddies or armor is upgraded on NPC-s based on how many kills they have or how many kills squad has. It could be ’refreshed’ when player sleeps or goes to other map. When incoming attack is imminent there is a timer so that player has a choice to go help. Friendly faction squad’s default action is always to defend a set location so they won’t do some stupid things. If friendly base is taken it’s game over so that player just can’t go looting without consequences. Maintaining ’army’ costs money meaning that every day money is taken from players account based on how many squads player has. Some locations are resource points (near anomalies – artifacts) but others might just have strategic value so there is a choice between income or defense. It also should prevent from manning all spawn points. The idea behind these propositions is that it gives reason to loot, players old upgraded gear has use, money has use, going too far ahead is very risky and most importantly fellow faction members have value and you start to care especially if they are experienced and have good gear.
