Did you Backup the valve folder before installing the mod?, if yes, go to the backup valve folder, make a copy of halflife.wad and rename it to sample.wad then cut/copy it to your half life directory. But if you don't backup it, try to reinstall half life and go to the game directory, and make a copy of halflife.wad and rename it to sample.wad again before installing the mod
