Hey there! Sorry it took me an entire year to get back to you - I'm much more active on my Youtube channel. The reason Windy Valley is so small and different is because the stage models were taken directly from the Sonic Adventure AutoDemo beta build. Back when I did this, there was no Windy Valley Beta restoration for SADX, and no indication that there ever would be. So I used the stage model so that people would get a chance to see what that long lost beta stage was like. Now that there is a proper restoration in SADX, this is no longer necessary. I am considering throwing this version of Windy Valley out and making a new one.

This depends on the size of the level but Mystic Ruins took approximately a year to develop. It does take a very long time, but this project was designed from the onset to be a 5+ year endeavor.

The final version of this was cut down significantly, because the preceding half of the level was already getting a little long, and a 2d section needed to be added to balance the level being exceedingly 3d.
