The Discovery mod is certainly the most popular, widely used and (arguably) well balanced Freelancer mod I've used so far, but it's hindered from achieving a top score by its slow releases, multitude of gaping plot holes and a failure to transition effectively from the vanilla game. Given that the inconsistencies affect a multitude of factions and systems in a mod prolific for its role playing, that's a pretty serious oversight. Similarly, the fact that many rumours and news articles remain in place, despite the fact that they are now obsolete or even contradictory to current mod lore is disappointing. Hopefully the fabled and (extremely) long awaited .86 update will consolidate on the things Disco is good at, and improve on everything else even further.
