Bah, it's been so long since I've checked here. All this Half-Life 2/Steam stuff has been driving me mad. Bring on the SDK! and a new monitor while you're at it :S

Anyway the enemies will be pooled from this Species X (what I assume the antlions and similar creatures are, remember opposing force) but we'd have to wait and see what Valve's got hidden in terms of enemies.
The enemies we know about will be modified in several ways to tie in the plot and keep thing interesting, if we can get headcrab zombies in somehow I'd love to include them.
Expect more in terms of mechanical enemies as well (security systems, bots etcetara)

I'd also like add that we've got a new member, Chicajo. He's known best around the music/system shock world and will be composing music for the mod (I'm really excited about having him on board, check out his site to see his work, you can probably guess the address).

lol, didn't realise people could comment on images so I hadn't checked this (I'm still new to moddb). I didn't add the turret because I'm redesigning it, I made a mockup in HL1 and it didn't scale well (not to mention the problems we'd have with a moving player controlling it, you move out of the trigger area and it goes haywire like the chair in Austin Powers :D)

We just want to get something out as soon as possible you know? We could do the entire thing in one go (in fact once it's completed it would be released both as episodes and one large download) but each chapter is so different. To be honest we're not sure what we're gonna do, having episodes could complicate carrying on a game.
We'd have to wait and see how things progress.

I've never seen that one, though it's somewhat notorious :D

We've taken influences from Aliens, The Thing, Starship Troopers (:lol:) as well as numerous games like the original Half-Life (of course) and System Shock 2. There's even a bit of Doom in there (just a bit mind you, we don't want this to be a play once - get bored - use cheats scenario).

Well the script is under tight security, but yes the toxin plays a major role in the events of the mod. What's really exciting is what we'll do with the new abilities of the engine, as the toxin will allow us to plausibly create a character capable of doing things no ordinary human can do.
It will bring combat and tension to a new level.
