Far Cry 2 Rewards Mod 1.01 Hotfix (Jump bugs) is now live!

Not much to say - just that I'm very happy I've got my mod released and I've got some pretty positive feedback for it!

Not the most popular game in the world, but I'm pretty sure I've got the only publicly released single player mod for Far Cry 2!

Now to keep on working at it and to see if I can get any more members on-board who have more modding experience than me and see if we can fix some of the issues with the re-spawning enemies!

Awesome!!!

My Far Cry 2 mod is now live!!!!

Very happy with the progress of my new mod for Far Cry 2

Have set myself a very doable January 10th full-release date and have just uploaded the 0.3 beta of the mod.

I have always loved Far Cry 2 - in fact the whole series to date - but found it frustrating sometimes on the hardest difficulty (infamous!). The enemies were a b***h to kill, a few rounds in you and you'd be either dead, almost dead or have to rely on one your buddies to rescue you and to top it all off, most guns only carried an extra one or two clips, meaning you'd be running out of ammo far too soon in some firefights.

I set out with the aim to increase the damage of guns (with the manuals bought from the gun shops), decrease recoil, increase accuracy (enough to be realistic, as the guns only seem to be deadly accurate depending on their range, rather than be absolutely deadly from any range!

I also wanted to make the weapons cheaper, as even though the prices are pretty decent (and the upagrades/utilities), often the only way to get what you wanted was to do the main missions and scout out a **** load of briefcases - which is fine in your first play-through on normal or hardcore, but when you're on infamous, it's a real hassle!

The prices are cheaper (5, 10 or 15) diamonds for all the guns, and the manuals are 2 and 5 for the weapon and vehicle manuals respectively, meaning that you can get most of what you want without having to bother with every single briefcase!

Right now I'm about 20% through the game, with 3 assassination missions complete and all available weapons unlocked and I have about 80% of the weapons available purchased and about 80 of the briefcases found - I feel this is okay, as I do enjoy getting the briefcases when the enemies are a little bit easier to kill and you're a little bit harder to detect/kill, plus there is more ammo!

Oh and you are harder to detect because I also doubled the effectiveness of the camouflage upgrade which can be purchased - it seems a lot more realistic (not that I've actually tried to sneak around a war-torn African country with 30-odd kilos of gear and trying to avoid every bastard that is trying to kill me!

I hope whoever gets the mod manages to enjoy it as much as myself and look forward to the January 10th release date!
