why not add Radagast the Brown?

I would just like to encourage the Black Mesa team. You guys are doing an incredible job and should be admired at the detail and complexity and time you are putting into this. In my opinion, this mod will out-do many HL redos, most - if not all - HL2 mods, and easily blow Half-Life: Source away. I only have one thing to ask...I know HL was released for PS2, but it also included a small co-op alternate story plot simultaneously parallel to Gordon's adventure. It featured two female scientist, Dr. Cross and Dr. Green. It would be nice to have the addition of this sub-plot called Half-Life: Decay in Black Mesa or at the very least some hint of the two doctors and their actions, much like you are doing with the bet between Gordan and Barney.

Beorn is not a dwarf. In the Hobbit, Beorn is never identified as being anything known. He is described with human characteristics plus having a large stature and grizzly looking; then, there is the whole ability to turn into a bear - and a fairly large one at that. Beorn is the leader of a lost race of which he is the leader of. This lost race has no name but is commonly referred to by Tolkien fans as Beornians. Sorry, I had to clarify this - most people don't know. :)
