Nice to hear that!
.NET Framework 4.8 is pretty popular for many programs. So now much more that just DoW Mod Manager would start to work ;-)
Thanks for kind words! xD
About your problem - try to delete everything related to DoW Mod Manager and then move the new version in your Soulstorm directory.
Make sure that you have .NET Framework 4.8 installed!
Also - what system are you running it on? It supports Windows 7+. I may create a separate version that supports Windows XP if needed.
Jiangmin is not a reliable antivirus. I'm 98% sure that it's fine
Did you placed DoW Mod Manager in the same directory as game executable? ;-)
Make sure that you are using the correct version of Tyranid mod (it was the biggest reason for crashing not so long time ago).
If nothing would help - delete Soulstorm (including folder itself!) and install it again. Then Dow Mod Manager. Then Unification. Make sure to read their instructions on how to install.
Very strange...
* Does Mod Manager works fine when there are no mods?
* Is DoW Mod Manager is in the same folder as DoW executable? For example, soulstorm.exe or dow40k.exe
* How exaclty do you install mods? *.module file should be placed in the same folder as game executable. Same with mod's folder.
Glad to hear that!
Sorry for the late response xD
Вы имееете ввиду именно в МОДЕ - не в самом Mod Manager?
А в каком именно моде?
Try to test it on VirusTotal.com
Windows SmartScreen is as smart as my... xD
You may try to download it from a GitHub repository (from a main developer): Github.com
Of course! There is a big difference between 178 and 320 kbps! Especially for a "difficult" compositions (with many instruments). Sadly, it wouldn't improve already existing tracks - we would need new 320 kbps tracks! Also, make sure that they are 44 kHz and not 22 kHz - that also improves quality.
Basically, your goal would be to make that engine supports good quality audio - then people could add more quality tracks in their mods ;-)
One day we would be able to use some Machine Learning algorithm on the Dark Web so it could disassemble Soulstorm executable and recompile it as an 64 bit executable ;-)
That's a VERY good news! We definitely need some improvements on the engine side! Can something be done to improve sound quality? I think ALL sounds are very heavily compressed. Is that an asset problem or a game engine limitation? Maybe try to replace sound libraries for a newer version? Or change the maximum audio bitrate?
Software engineer here: Dawn of War and all of it's expansions are 32 bit applications. That means that they can't use more that 2 Gb of RAM. Doesn't matter how much RAM your PC has or is your OS 32 or 64 bits.
BUT
There is a way to set a special flag in game's executable (that is possible for ANY 32 bit application) so it could "see" up to 4 Gb of RAM. It's highly recommended to do that before you would use any mod, so that could significantly decrease the possibility for game to crash.
DoW Mod Manager has that ability (LAA toggle), or you could search for "4 GB patch" for any executable.
Sadly, this will not make DOW executable a 64 bit application and without source code that would be VERY hard to do.
The thing is, our brain can create fake memories. You remember that you had a yellow hat but nope - it was red! When our brain loses some memories, he often just "reconstruct" them as good as it can. So, most likely, you started playing Winter Assault, then switched to Dark Crusade. Maybe even played Soulstorm later. But you brain just combined your memories together ;-)
I tested and mods could be merged and unmerged. It's just not 100% user friendly. If you have problems with this - delete file that ends with "_MERGED". No additional folders are created during the merging process - only one new file that loads both mods ;-)
If you liked this mod, you could also try "CornCobMan's Fun Mod" - another hidden gem!
Ah! Interesting and strange ;-)
I was just confused why are we updating 2.0.10.11 to 2.0.10.6 xD
So...
I have to install CCM_Patch_2.0.10.6.zip after CCM_Full_2.0.10.11.zip?
That's strange xD
For all who are scared of potential virus threat - here is a VirusTotal review of the Crucible-v2.05_patch.exe
Virustotal.com
Maybe I could help ;-)
Let's see...
* So what directory name is in the top of the DoW Mod Manager Window? It should be "Your current Soulstorm directory:" followed by the path to your Soulstorm.exe
* Does Error message says "Neither found the Soulstorm, Dark Crusade, Winter Assault nor Original in this directory!"? It's important!
* Is your game executable called "Soulstorm.exe"?
* Do you have this problem ONLY if your are playing with an Unification mod (and no problems if you are using any other mod)? In that case - ask there ;-)
I'm keeping an eye on it ;-)
Some ideas for 2.3.3.0:
* Add Reshade + 2 presets ("Cinematic" one and another - less crazy and more tasteful xD). That would be added in ModList as "mods". Same as it was for bigger fonts.
* Fix Combine mods problem, when list of combined mods gets inverted. That may cause problems for some combination of mods.
* Programmer-specific improvements such as replacing Lists with HashSets for performance gain.
Guys! The version 2.3.2.0 is here!
The main creator of DoW Mod Manager (FragJacker) still didn't approved this patch (he doesn't respond to my comments - probably he is busy) so I posted it here for all who crave for a new version with those changes:
- Fixed unnecessary cast in method that searches for videodrivers. That may fix some rare issues with videocard detection
- Fixed a bug where Mod Manager would crash if you click on "Open folder..." button if you don't have any mods installed
- Sealed two classes for performance gain
- Changed StringBuilder + File.WriteAllText to a simple and more efficient StreamWriter
- Created new class - "extensions" and refactored GetValueFromLine() method to an extension
- Renamed a few variables here and there

That's a known bug and it is fixed in 2.3.2.0 (main creator didn't approved this patch yet but you can download it from me - a co-creator ;-))

Does pressing "Start base game" button works?
Make sure that you Soulstorm executable is called "Soulstorm.exe".
