I'm so glad I took part last night. Most fun I've had in a long time.
I think there's also a truck in it somewhere.
We'll give an ETA when we know. Our programmer had a death in the family (but also a birth! Congrats Slapdash!) which, understandably, kept him from working. We're getting back on track right now, though. So once we know we'll let you know. Right now I can promise vast improvements to the truck, at least one new enemy (aiming for three) and visual updates to SS_Shotgun. Slapdash is converting the mod over to Orange Box and when he gets done with that is what will allow us to estimate a release date.
We want SS_Revolver to be finished but that's up in the air for now.
Yes. Next release is going to be huge.
Because our numbers don't actually mean anything. Maybe our NEXT patch will be 0.3. Or maybe it'll be called Subsistence. Or maybe we'll change the mod's name to Super Gay Awesome Force.
Is that a new enemy, I see? Perhaps one that introduces a new game mechanic?
INTERESTING
3.80 Graphic and Command Line should do ya.
Axe secondary fire shoves the truck. I've never seen it take more than three guys to get the truck unstuck. Especially if one's in the driver's seat spinning the wheel/accelerating.
Normally I'm the good cop here, but for reals.
Objectives will be more or less the same but the way players go about getting them will be much more interesting and require more teamwork. Our current goal in terms of gameplay is to make the enemies harder and possibly add more.
Shotgun is being worked on at the same time as our new map. We just want our next release to have some more significant changes.
Read the full description on the 1.5 file page. It gives instructions.
We're working hard to get new content out to everyone, but because of some of the unique properties of this mod and our small team we need to do more testing than is normally required. This makes it much harder to give any sort of release date, so we're going to hold off on that till we're absolutely sure.
We are now popular enough to have trolls! Woo!
Confident does not mean defensive, sir.
We plan on it. We're also gonna post tutorials for custom maps (which are very easy to make).
Absent WithOut Leave - IE we dont know where he is at the moment.
We're just waiting on our programmer to fix one simple thing. It's not dead.
While there's no "official" date that this mod takes place, we put the town (or at least the state it was left in) somewhere in the 30s. Tommy guns were around as early as the 1920s, though
Our cowboys have nothing against straight people. As long as those straight people aren't afraid to slaughter some zombies they're okay by them.
It's actually a model edit. We don't have a character modeler so I took out the HL2 headcrab, patched the hole in the chest, shortened the fingers, added a hat and did a retexturing. They're also re-animated (as all zombies are) so the effect is much different than that of the standard HL2 zombies. As far as "3rd person content," almost everything in this mod, including weapons, vehicles, most (if not all) textures, quite a few animations, props and voice acting are completely original.
Also, would-be level designers can easily make their own maps/scenarios that include most of the original enemies from HL2, including striders and vortigaunts.
This mod was the collaboration of very few random guys from the Penny-Arcade community (three main guys with a few other people that contributed a couple models or textures here and there). None of us have ever met and our goal is not a super polished L4D killer, but a fun romp through zombie-infested wild west.
This is the greatest thing ever. You, sir, are a true gentleman.
Your FACE shouldnt be allowed on here.
