Report RSS My First Game, Farkle Friends

Posted by on

Since my game has been in development for a while now, and since I'm not quite ready for a new blog update on my games progress. I'm just going to give you a little background info on me and my first game. I've made a few blog posts on other game development sites already so this will be kind of a catch up to get you up to date.

I have been dabbling in game development for the last year or so. I've been a mobile developer for about 6 years now and my high passion for video games, and being a software developer I decided to start making games in my free time. Farkle Friends is still in development but getting close to being able to start doing some closed alpha testing. It has been in development for a few months now.

I use Unreal Engine 4 for my engine. I played around with both UE4 and Unity and chose UE4 because the engine is more well rounded, you get access to all features of the engine and its source code for free, and the community for UE4 for me was a little better that Unity.

So fast forward a few month and I am on the verge of releasing my first game Farkle Friends. Its playable but still has a few kinks that need to be worked out before I can start some closed alpha testing. I'm hoping to start alpha testing within the next month or 2. After that I will have some open beta testing using GamingBetas and AlphaBetaGamer. So if everything goes well I'm hoping to release in 3 to 4 months.

I also have a website you can check for more details and where to see my other dev blogs if you want more information about the last month or so of development, hunter-gaming.
