Could you provide sources for your claims that "rape was far, far, far more common than history typically admits" or that it was "very common to rape and pillage"?
It appears that you are talking completely out of your ***. What in the world does "more common than history typically admits" even mean? Rape did occur in history but it was still a crime (in one form or another) that was punished accordingly. You make it seem like it was a form of greeting, and yet have no proof of your statement.
It might make sense not to make broad, sweeping statements about history when you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. It might save you from looking foolish.
