Far Cry 2

Game review

This is a great game that I have enjoyed playing through multiple times. All together I have probably spent about 500 hours roaming through the jungle, Savannah, and deserts of the game world. There are so many things that make the game so fun and great to play. These are:

-A huge open world map

-A long but not too stretched out story

-Lots of side missions like buddy missions and assassination missions

-A lot of different ways of attacking an outpost - you could just shoot everyone, burn the whole place down, blow it up, or take a stealthy approach with a sniper rifle and silenced weapons

-You can set fire to the grass and wood in the game and it actually burns - my favourite part of the game ;)

-Pretty good graphics for its time

-A lot of different weapons that can be used for different combat situations

There are also a lot of things that are really bad about the game:

-The malaria does not add anything and is just pretty annoying

-The AI is terrible, even with mods like Dylan's realism. It is so bad at sometimes that you can be playing on infamous difficulty but it just feels like normal difficulty because it is that bad.

-You are only able to access 19km2 of the 50km2 game world because over half of it is mountains that you can't climb. It is basically just a complete scam from Ubisoft to make more people buy the game because they think it's bigger than it really is

-The story (or lack of it) is pretty bad. You just basically wander around doing very similar missions over and over again until something different happens

-All of the guns are for some reason left handed (they are like mirrored versions of how they are in real life)

-Overall the game just feels mostly unfinished. Like they were meant to spend like about 1 or 2 more months when making the game before release. If they had it would be a definite 10/10 from me
