Ok sorry for being that odd guy, but I'm running this on WINE on linux. I got it installed, it loads intro/menu and opens, but can't start a new game. I click new game, but then clicking a new difficulty does nothing. It makes the animation that your mouse is over it. I can click back to main menu, that button works.

All buttons in settings works and all other menu works except the 4 or 5 difficulty buttons to START then game.

Is there something I can run from a console to load a saved game (at the start of game) that someone can give me? Or can you make a .bat file for me that loads up the start of game? What can you think of my friend? Thank you for reading.

Installing on WINE was easy. Sort of. Had to unrar x [filepath] the two part install. then installed on system wine v3.0. winetricks d3dx9_31 d3dx9_42 added openal.dll in winecfg ran install, applied fixx in order, translation. Basically like any other stalker install on winehq. Will see if loading lost alpha on same virtual drive makes a difference it has some goodies in the install.

Ok it started a game with the defaults then crash. It still needed the beta dl here to start. redownload same.

Installed beta 1.0.9.9.9.5 on this website after this patch and it's fixed hopefully helps anyone else.
EDIT ok it launches to menu but when you hit options, same thing. Get outta here stalker!

Happens right at launch. Launched with no update, the next, and next, and final, tried all, is irrelevant. feels like something with our systems but not sure what. tried deleting gamedata folder no go. deleted d3d9's in bins no go. tried outside of program files with/without admin no difference. found some advice about a betabin but is that outdated now? Unsure what we need.

XR_3DA.exe caused BREAKPOINT in module "E:\Steam Auxillary\steamapps\common\STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl\bin\xrCore.dll" at 0023:007C7CB5, xrDebug::backend()+165 byte(s)

Apparently the problem is in xrCore.dll, although the mod does not include a new version of it, I verified the integrity of STALKER, not sure whats going on here.

UPDATE Thank you all for your support, I think I have it working. Downloaded all the .db files and updated to the january 18, 2013 patch. Past the cave, and the saves are working so far. Of course, if anything changes, you'll be the first to know ;)

But I tried latest patch and auto updater. Still stuck.

It's still a bit like reading backwards at times. My quest breaks at the lab the door to scientist won't open. Appears I missed a quest line but can't figure out where. If I shoot the scientist in the open-air research lab on the left, the door opens and it seems to skip the quest line but is still broken sometimes I get trapped in and a billion monsters then break the doors off the hinges. Pretty hilarious you can skip to the end god-mode through the psi-fields and start the final quest lines, at the worst. Many thanks for upload.

I seemed to get better frames with it. gtx1060/amd1400

I was very very much liking the NPC's not throwing 400 grenades at me every 2.3 seconds. 1.4 without them was very playable and pleasant. Was able to complete the game so I'll be skipping these patches. Thank you for continuing to work on this.
