Halo 3 Theater mode was used. Top view of the hornet was used to get basic shape of the top, the rest was then build in proportion to that.
It only works on Halo Custom Edition. You wont have a problem installing and running it as long as you own Halo Combat Evolved.
The H3MT multiplayer experience will be IDENTICAL to the current Halo 3 experience except for Theater, Forge, and dual weilding.
Here is what we basicaly do. We use 3DS Max for models, and animations Phoroshop for texture, and the Halo Editing Kit (HEK) to get it all ingame. Modding for Halo is particularly tricky because, unlike most games, halo requires its models to follow the "Closed World Rules." This means that NO model can have coliding triangles or open edges. The best sites to learn how to mod for Haloce are halomaps.org, modhalo.net, and modacity.net.
Yes, EVERYTHING we use was modeles, textures, and animated by us. The only thing not made by us is the game itself.
The Halo engine we are using is seven years old. Back then even shadows were hardly possible. In fact, I had no idea one could have bloom and volumetric lights in Haloce. It sure as hell doesnt look that good on MY computor. All this was made possible throught advanced lightmapping (Dee), and external application (some dll). Granted, they will be made available to you along with the map. Also, keep in mind that this is sill a WIP. Nothing is finished. Its only playable.
There is no forge mod in Haloce. It would be virtually to make it without full access to the source code. However, we are thinking about releasing all the scenery files so that you can put together your own maps in Sapien. Unfortunate, we wont be open sourcing any of our work until we've released all our maps.
Because of engine problems, we can't have separate bipeds on teams. So we've decided to have a covenant styled map either custom or from Halo 3 with the elites.
This picture was rendered in 3ds Max. :p
If you think this is nice, wait until Nugget finishes our brand new model. It's almost completely poly-accurate!
Yes, it's all one model. Halo 1's Blam! engine doesn't allow for open edges/seperate models in the map file. We'd go to the Source engine, but then Microsoft my get onto us for 'copyright infringement' or something.
We're modding Halo: Custom Edition. :)
The spartan model shown isn't the one we're using. It's part of a testing tagset that Ki11a_FTW uses. We've got a different set of animations than him atm. :)
Heh, it looks good here, but in FP view it's not nearly as good. We are going to change that soon though.
:| Why do my Narrows pics keep breaking!?
