Awesome mod. Realistic weaponry and units. Brings back the original Generals feel.

Great mod and great potential.

Rise of the Reds

Mod review may contain spoilers

WOOOOW. I grew up with Command and Conquer, porting from Age of Empires at age 11. This Mod captures the essence of what C&C was all about, and what Generals is, and what Zero Hour missed. Well done!! Looking forward to Version 2! Rise of the Reds has some amazing potential, especially if they add a proper campaign as promised. The game changes considerably, with the GLA gaining air forces, Chinese more variety and the USA getting drones. The two new factions are also quite compatible with the game system and engine and it begs the question why EA didn't include them from the start. The only drawback is that the game still runs on 2003 era graphics (which means my Samsung Galaxy Core Prime has the specs to run the game if it could), but the fact that the gameplay and possibilities are so dynamic and endless totally make up for the fact that you are looking at 13 year old graphics. The ROTR team did update more minute details such as guns, which now bear more resemblance to actual weapons than two planks nailed together as in the original Generals. Truely masterful and had me in nostalgia and giddy as the first time I played Generals back in 2003.

Edit: Since the initial awe wore off, it's become frustrating to play, specifically on Origin-based Generals. Updates are far behind and very late. The premise is interesting, but the devs act like they are gods that patronize their players with updates "when they see fit". Very uncool
