Flying ninja demolition experts with guns akimbo... yeah, those guys are as badass as one can be. Still, the old spandex suits didn't quite do justice to this, so they got a redesign to be more believable and high-tech. The new suit is tailored exactly for the Shadows' needs - it's mainly just a light, unarmored suit allowing for agile and stealthy maneuvers but features heavy armor on the gauntlets, boots and torso which trained soldiers can use to deflect most HTH and small arms attacks.
The most important part of the suit however is the helmet. Looking like a twisted mixture of a human skull and an insect's head, it's equipped with a wide range of sensors as well as imaging systems. Most notable are the 8 ocular receptors on the two vertical stripes running over the soldier's eyes. These allow the helmet to detect a multitude of different signals, which are then processed into a single combined image for the soldier - the result seems totally chaotic to the untrained eyes, but in return many veteran Shadows are now completely unable to cope with their natural vision.
