Yeah, there are always limitations when we're talking about modding (I do that myself either when a game is in demand, and I properly see what you mean.) And again, I finally realized that you people saw this project just as a simple mod in the beginning willing to bring the ships from BS, but in time the project just amplified itself and I can tell you that can be seen as a total conversion (not so big, but being big is not always the best adventure yet!) since you start a new plot with a new pilot with totally customized ships/weapons/ fleet, some soundtracks and so on. I am also not ready to give up just yet on this mod favoring the Terra Incognita, since it still has to offer a great experience and the release of a mod of such height might take a few years... I suggest adding just a simple README txt file addressing that matter of Captain rank for new people if the mod is still downloaded. If not, then BSG:TI is the way, I'll check the materials on x-battlestar.com meanwhile, since it seems to be the real deal :)

Oh, that explains a lot, it is always the hardest job to put back old files with no proper documentation rather than starting a new project from scratch. In this case, I think if safe to say that is next to a miracle the mod has seen a perfect playable, final and stable version after 5 years and abandoned several times. It is a great addition to a BSG fan.
It's exciting to hear such great news about the new mod also, and I'll do that gladly (ideas/suggestions/concerns) as soon as I will have any material to make reference for.

Continuation (2000 chars limit to post)
Obviously, the X series is a series of exploration/discovering new gates>sectors>races>ships>items>opportunities>trading routes and so on, this is why people are playing it gladly, the BSG world being the same by all means, and creating a new mission/mod with explicit text like go from point A to B, load x number of wares and take the warpgate from x0 y0 z0 to ship at x15 y15 z15, won't give the gamers any joy, but losing the gamers due to some possible frustration from lacking documentation at all, especially when the game is supposed to be approached in many ways being a pure open-world one, could be a severe downside to a project that on the contrary, should be praised for its many additions and new features (and here I talk about the BSG mod.)
Anyway, the issue is solved, hopefully, no other future missions would imply things that the player could not foresee, and I am eager to experience the world of Terra Incognita when the time comes. Regarding the walkthrough making, I am not into that much, since is a total spoiler to me also, but most likely being a carrier of the word speaking about your 2 mods, and reviewer/quality tester I could do just fine if necessary. Good luck finalizing the newer entry in the series.

Winning of the war does not mean you have to own the biggest sword ever, but to know how to handle the one you already have. Regarding the matter "there was no thoughts that taking the rank of captain will be hard" is nothing but true, still the idea was that no one referred or was intuitive enough to increase the fighting rank in the beginning when you have a ship that has no, I repeat, NO shielding at all, or any other ship in the fleet... Not to mention that from the previous experience with the X-Universe, ranking in the game would just bring more enemies and also tougher ones, especially in Albion Prelude, which is the most battle-intended game in the series, so, as a man flying with no shields, and protective over any ship in the Colonial Fleet (I am the proud son of Adama after all for Christ six) I was too careful not to level as fast in the beginning, just to see now that your principle as developers was in the opposite way (although I had the demonic idea to capture two Cylon Riders and make them land and protect my new freighter).
This is why I say the mission text from within the script should be a little more explicit, like let's say Adama "the Old Man" should call Appolo and order him to protect Galactica, AND prove himself he is not rusty (reference from the actual series when Apollo got himself quite fat due to no activity), and prove himself as a proud Captain (here the gamer should take notice that he needs to level up in the game.) I got to say that also all the missions from X3++ series make the gamer explore/find/procure items or money, but they are a little more explicit, so probably this is a method you should approach too in my humble opinion.

I do want to mention that the mod shows a certain level of dedication and good sense of the BSG environment, adding developers like Cycrow on the team (citing from credit list), meaning that one would expect only great things out of this. As a conclusion, you did the hard work already guys, and you did it great already, why don't you show it to the people right?

Kudos for the quick response in the first place.
Now, to be a little more specific, speaking as a developer, why you people sell so cheap yourselves? I play in the X Universe ever since X2 The Threat, and I can honestly say it never occur to me that taking a Captain rank would be the mandatory demand to progress into the story, simply because no one tells you anywhere?!? It is not even a deductible reason to motivate yourself continuing with the game, you would as well suppose the mod is broken. Pls let me tell you guys, no one is sleeping with the BGS mod in mind and wake up in the morning with the dream of being Captain to carry on with the story mode, unless you really DO specify about this somewhere. Treat the people as newcomers, since they are not familiar with your story, we cannot know what you the developers behind this had in mind. Even experienced ones.
I saw too many breathless mods/games/artworks with tremendous potential fallen into oblivion due too pointless reasons like no explicit storyline or no proper documentation (which is your very mistake here.) Pls, for the sake of your new users coming to this mod, do something about that, being more explicit with at least a .txt, .nfo or README file coming along with the mod where is most needed like "Mission 3 - 'Protect Galactica': You need to be at least Captain as your fighting rank in order to finish this mission." I understand that this is the final version of the mod, so I suppose that modifying the script itself wouldn't be the easiest choice, but a simple .txt file would do the job just fine, for all the missions that need additional details! In this regard, pls point your scripter/project manager to this comment, you would thank me later, trust me, keeping in mind that you already are working on a new project also.

How to pass the mission "Protect Galactica"??? it is the 3rd mission playing as Apollo Adama, I have taken the Dark Viper already, then Galactica calls me saying to collect what I can from the sector, I got my Dark Viper's freight bay full with missiles and ammo (700 of 700), then I return and protect Galactica countless times from the Cylons, BUT NOTHING HAPPENS!!! I play like this for like 4-5 hours! It's frustrating, I say this final version 3.1 was released in a rush, when you people didn't test the missions yet, and such, I am stuck from the very beginning! :((
Can anyone tell me pls how to pass this mission?
