I am done with the ModDB page. I am only going on to the official forum for info and to chat. Only about five to ten fans here really appreciate the work they do.

Thanks for the information man. I think I will give XML a try over winter break since I will have time to learn it then. I just hope I am better at XML than I am at C++ hehe.

And darthvadre, I know there will always be people who disagree or get confused, I just get fed up with people putting down the PR team all the time. As you know, and anyone else who has tried to make a mod, it is difficult and can not be done well alone. When I tried to make a mod for StarCraft about a year ago, I only knew a little bit of JAVA script, which I could not utilize to make a mod. My friend who knew C++ (who also inspired me to learn how to code) did all of the coding portion of the mod. I worked on the artwork for the game, which I might add, was not too great. Nothing ever met our expectations and that is why we stopped work on it. Now I know enough code that I could possibly help work on a mod, while I could not do all programming by myself. I am still horrible at animation, both 2D and 3D.

Whatever, by now I am rambling on about nothing. My point is that there aren't enough people who understand how hard it is to make a good mod. Even fewer who know what an undertaking it is to make a total conversion of arguably the greatest RTS of all time. If more people knew, then there would be less complaints. Not everyone needs to know HOW to make a mod, and not everyone wants to make a mod, but I think everyone should realize that modding is not at all easy.

I still have yet to learn any XML coding. Is the syntax hard to learn?

I am gone three days and I already have people tying to prove me wrong? You say I have no life because I post ONE SMALL MESSAGE here everyday? You people may think it is long, but I have taken so many computer classes over the last year that I can type these two paragraph posts in under a minute or so. They are not long, and the only reason they are as long as they are is to get their point across. My posting rules generally go like this, DON'T POST IF YOU:

A. Can't get your point across.
B. Are just posting to be an ******* *cough* mzeal *cough*
C. Are a genuine idiot.

You guys also think I have no life because I defend everything they do. Well guess what? That is because I know what it is like to make a mod. I tried to make a mod about a year ago, but on top of work, school, and life in general, it was hard to find time to work on it. I can only imagine how hard it must be to go through the same with a team, all in different timezones, and all working on a different part of the mod. Making a mod is a lot harder than it seems. You will encounter many problems that you may not know how to fix right away. I am sure everyone on the Snowflake team has had these problems.

I feel sorry for you Jun, and for the rest of the Snowflake team. You work hard on this mod, and only a handful of fans realize that. I want updates just as much as anyone else, but I am never going to complain when there isn't one. I know how hard it is to make a mod, and you guys are doing a hell of a better job than I could have done. I would have lent you my services back when I finished learning C++ but I just don't have the time. I wish some of these fans would stop complaining and maybe try contributing to the mod.

Again mzeal, you fail to surprise me. You really think they took their site down to by some time? Well did you even try going to the wc3campaigns.net main site? You know the site that is hosting them? Well guess what, that site is down too. If wc3campaigns goes down, so does PR's site. Do you really think that wc3campaings would shut down just because Snowflake said they wanted more time? NO!

Oh, and I bet there wont be an update today, and quite frankly, I could care less if there is one or not. This mod is not my life, and if it was never released I wouldn't fret over it. If they choose not to give us an update for whatever reason, I respect their choice, and you will never see me sitting here bitching about how THEY don't work hard enough on THEIR MOD for fans who do nothing but complain all day at them. If I was in their shoes, I would stop all work on it completely just to **** you guys off, and I would personally tell you that it was your persistent bitching that caused it. Have a nice day.

This isn't Blizzard... Blizzard, while generally poor on getting the community what they want, is large enough, and makes enough money, that they can hire people specifically for this purpose. They are also organized, since if someone can not be organized enough to do their job, they just get fired. Snowflake Entertainment is a group of about 5 or 6 members. They live in different time zones, and have different activities going on in their lives. They can not always, and will not always be able to get in contact with each other to give and receive information. If they don't have the information, then why on earth would they post here. Are you saying you want them to come here and say "There are no updates, but I can't get in touch with any of the other team members so I don't know why we don't have updates". They are doing this for free; they are doing this on their own time; they don't always have the information you want. Seriously people, if you can't think something through thoroughly before you post, then don't post it at all.

First of all, I know full well the most of the mods on this site are dead and that they did no post what happened to the mod. The difference between those mods and PR is that PR does give us updates. It is not always a screen shot or a video which some people seem to think is the only worth while kind of update (I know kind of dumb isn't it?) but they do continually tell us whether there is work in progress, or if they had a set back.

And second of all, freetomfr can you even read? I specifically said, and I quote "It's not that screenies and videos are hard to make, or even time consuming..." this means (for those of you who dropped out of school and decided to post here with minimal reading and comprehension abilities) that they are not hard to make, and generally don't take long to make. HOWEVER, after the screenie is taken, or the video is made, it does not just magically appear on the website! They have to get in contact with X-SOLDIER, get him the pic/video so he can upload it here, or they have to get it to one of the members who uploads it to the main site. Now why delay the whole project just to give some ignorant and unappreciative fans something to gawk at for a full 2 minutes before they decide that they should get more for doing *sarcasm* oh so much to help further the development of the mod by complaining on a consistent basis *sarcasm*. Seriously people, think before you post, and in the case of freetomfr, make sure you UNDERSTAND the post you are replying to.

Sorry for not getting back to you as soon as my class ended. I did not learn enough programming in the class to help you. I am not great at modeling or animation either. I am still in the process of learning C++ and when I feel I could help you, I will let you know.

Everyone here can comment on this mod saying "progress is slow!". "There are no updates!" "You don't inform your fans!" But I know for a fact none of them could or WOULD do a better job if they had their own mod. It's not that screenies and videos are hard to make, or even time consuming, but guess what people: THE VIDEOS AND SCREENIES DON"T PUT THEMSELVES ON THE WEBSITE. They would rather not waste time trying to get a video good enough, and upload it to the site, instead of working on the mod. Seriously people. If you don't understand why it is taking so long, why don't you try you luck at Animation? Why don't you learn to program? Because if you tried, you would give up and say it takes too long, or it is too hard. Well guess what? There are only a handful of people working on this mod, and they all have to take the time it takes to do Animation and coding, all while keeping up with their daily lives. And also, when did they say this mod was specifically for the fans? Every think they might just be making this out of entertainment, or as a way to prove to themselves and others that they can do it? They don't have to even let you download the mod. Think about that before you complain again, which I know oh so well is going to happen.

Normally I stay out of the business of a-holes like you, but I just have to say something. Ok, your talking about the piece of **** maps made by nightwolf, that are so imbalanced and terrible looking, they could never hope to be something even close to StarCraft right? Well those are MAPS! There is no special coding that needs to be done! There is no need for more than one person to work on them! PR is not only a mod, but a TOTAL CONVERSION MOD! This means that not only do they have to mod the game, but they also must mod it so that it replicates the StarCraft experience. This is a much bigger and much harder project than those StarCraft maps could ever hope to be. If you don't like how long it is taking, then why don't you go and help them instead of complaining? Do you have any idea how hard it is to make a mod? NO! So either stop complaining or help them.

The download wait on Battle.net isn't worth it. If these were quality maps it might be but their not. It's very imbalanced and I doubt the creator plans to fix any of it.

It doesn't matter if PR is free, it doesn't give anyone any right to go and take the models that they worked hard on. If he really wants to use them then he can ask for permission, and if/when he is denied permission he can do without them. Stealing art is wrong, even if it is from a free mod.

So your actually telling him to steal models from people who worked hard to get perfection on them, instead of taking the time to do them himself? His maps are garbage(not by looks, by game play), and will stay that way, even if he steals PR's models.

Are you trying to annoy them to the point where they don't want to work? All of these people have lives, and other things that they consider more important than this project. If YOU want it to get done faster, then why don't YOU do something to help. Stop complaining and asking for updates, its irritating and unneeded.

There are lots of free servers out there, but how many of them give enough bandwidth for a forum, a gallery, regular updates, and multiple people signing on a day? I'm sure this is the issue that they are trying to work out.

No offense guys, but I don't think a millions posts saying "don't worry about a site, give us a demo" is really going to help things. They just get annoying when lots of people post them. Let them do their work and not bother them until the IS an update.

I would hate it if they increased the max unit selection. All it would do is create major imbalance in the game play. Keep it the way it is, and let it hold you off until SCII because thats where all the changes are going to be.

Thanks for the assurance Cooler. I can't wait for this mod. Make sure you guys don't rush too much on this, SCII probably wont be out until late next year, or early 2009. You have plenty of time to make it as accurate as possible, I wouldn't want a half done mod, or a mod that wasn't up to the expectations set for it.

Chances are, StarCraft 2 will be unbalanced. The old SC team is long gone, and I doubt if Blizzard remembers how to make balance *cough* Warcraft 3 *cough*. I will get SC2 for the story line, but PR will probably be more fun.

Chimera is just a word, usually to describe the cross of 2 completely different animals/species. It is by no means stolen, unless by the Greeks, whom I know for a fact haven't copyrighted it.
